CB Draft '10 Playoffs First Round Western Conference

Phoenix.  I like Howard and the vet presence in the starting lineup.  I wish they had one more vet big man.  The GM is going to need to step up his game to survive the next round though.  He will not be getting any more teams that have such unproven players that will take time to develop at such important spots.  (PG and C)

I like my big man rotation, I"ve documented this about a thousand times. However, I'll also state that we're not without a veteran big due to effort. I offered some pretty favorable deals to try and land another guy.

Again, if we were really competing I'd prefer Davis & Monroe over the 'on his last legs' veteran, but I seem to be in the minority.

For the sake of my own curiosity only, what is it that you liked about the Lakers over the Kings?  I like their backcourt, but I'm 100% unconvinced by the Lakers up front.

I think the wildcard will be Beasley.  If he can play efficiently I think he's the perfect compliment to Roy and Curry.  He'll give them that 3rd option advantage and allow Prince to be a huge 4th option advantage over Garcia.  Of course, Beasley can just as easily lose the series for them.  You have a slight advantage in rebounding and down low presence with Boozer, but I'm not sure it's enough.  I'll say it again, this series is definitely close.

That's a big jump considering how he rolled up in the playoffs this past season.

I think that's a tough sell after watching the Finals, unfortunately.  Gasol killed KG on the boards.

Thanks for the answer.  I'm not a believer in Beasley, and I think that Sacramento's rebounding advantage is more than slight (I think Sacramento is the best rebounding team in the league, and LA is one of the worst).  That said, I respect your evaluation.

A different center, and it might have been a different result for me.  I just can't be a believer in a guy with a questionable work ethic until I see him perform.

That said, this was a lot closer than a 1-vs.-8 series has a right to be.

Fair enough.  Opinion is opinion.  I think Kevin Garnett did more this year than he's given credit for.
