Great job on the tabulations.

Just 22 votes and not one from outside the game is troubling.

We had 30+ owners and two commissioners and got only 22 votes. We have to do better than that.

It won't be a point in their favor, especially since we're looking to contract some. But details will be up to the commish next year.

the boogie is going to need a kingmaker to convince people he can hang with dwight. you think sarah palin is too busy to rustle up some support against the 'phoenix fat cats'? :)

As long as we can agree that in the postseason Dwight Howard's name recognition is > defense, turnovers, free throw shooting, and three point shooting?

NOLA BucsLeague AveragePhoenix Gorillas
.475 FG%.461 FG%.449 FG%
.781 FT%.759 FT%.712 FT%
.374 3PT%.355 3PT%.342 3PT%

Point of order IP, playing rookie Cousins 22 mpg is more of a problem than playing two rookie big men, Monroe and Davis 33 mpg?

Or Phase 1 Top 5 Pick, Phase 2 ?, Phase 3 Profit?

New Orleans average age 26.
Phoenix average age 23.

Yikes. Someone's going haaaaaard.

I don't care enough to check, but those age numbers don't seem accurate, right? I've got some youngins but I've also got B-Diddy, Salmons, Jamison, Stevenson and Turkoglu tippin the scale in the other diretion.

Not sure I agree with all the 12's and 13th place votes I got. 11 is a strecth too. I think at worse I should have had 10th places votes. I have a very complete team. The concerns about Outlaw were ridiculus because he average 9.5 ppg for his career weather he was starting or coming of the bench. My only really problem was a sg with Rush and Smith in a little bit of trouble. I would have picked up Flip Murray for the 1st few games of the season and went with Jordan Crawford off the bench but whatever.

Not just because he's on my team, but I think your team was a John Salmons type away from contention. I think you were a little too high on the Bogut-Rondo combo, which is a nice 1-2, but you needed a point scorer on the wing whose also able to create his own shot.

You know what though riah, 11 of the 15 teams in the east got at least one 11th place or lower votes. 10 of those 11 teams got at least 2 11th place or lower votes. Of the 4 other teams two got votes as low as 9th and the other 2 got votes as low as 7th.

It happens and there's a ton of reasoning behind it. People see these teams in different manners. For instance, last night I had an interesting conversation with Roy. He's shocked that a team with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Jameer Nelson and David Lee could miss the playoffs and thinks Sacramento is the truly most talented team in the game. I consider Roy a pretty astute and knowledgeable basketball guy and yet I couldn't disagree more with his assessment of those teams. Yet I believe he probably considers me a pretty astute and knowledgeable basketball guy as well.

Let's assume we are both pretty astute and knowledgeable basketball guys. Well how do we see things so differently in regards to these teams? Well, it's kind of like to each his own. Some like offense. other defense. Others want talent. Other will sacrifice talent for fit and chemistry. Some want youth. Others experience. It really is all over the board and there's know right or wrong to it.

The East had a lot of talent this year with two very strong divisions. You had a good team but I think you were probably just on the outside looking in come playoff time. The margin is that small. Like someone suggested, maybe instead of JR Smith if you had an OJ Mayo or John Salmons or even just Grant Hill type of player you make the leap up a few spots and are in the playoffs. The margins to change peoples opinions really can be just that close.

I am really regretting not having enough time to market my team more. I dont know if I would have changed many minds but there were not a lot of sexy names on my roster. However, a team that goes 9 deep with NBA starters should be in the playoffs. I also can't believe one voter had the Thunder as the worst team in the conference, below Portland. Oh well!

That's exactly it.  Everyone thinks that different things contribute to a 'good' team.  I know personally I skipped on some talent for a better team fit, and for good character guys who will give my team a very strong chemistry, while complementing around my superstar.  Some people think that will work and other's just don't see it and would have rather seem the team do something different.

Oh and next year I'm creating a standard ballot for voting.

Everyone used a differnt variant of team names, city names, acronyms, etc.

If all votes at least used the same name, "Boston instead of Celtics or Celts or BOS", I can easily write a worksheet that will automate all of this and we can have results much faster. (and with a TON less work for the commish)
