US Open

So what do we have so far?

Roddick, Davydenko, Berdych, Cilic, Baghdatis and Hewitt are already out and we are only in the middle of the second round.

- Federer looking good and I don;t think he'll have any troubles till the 1/4 when he's expected to play gainst Soderling'.

- The exit of Berdych is is one more good player out of the way of the prdicted and very interesting  semi final of Nadal vs  Murray.

- Djokovic is not very stable lately and I think the surprise will be from his pasrt of the draw. Mardy Fish (in a good shape lately) and Gael Monfils have good chancse to make it further than usual.

I'll let twinbree and thirstyboots18 to talk about women's draw but I'm glad that my two future wifes Lena and Vera (Yes, I'll have two) are still going strong  ;)

Lots of big upsets and little upsets so far this year.  A lot more than expected.  Looks like it will be the usual suspects near the end with maybe Nalbandian making a run.

Well Murray crashed and burned out. Still can't stand him but I'm beginning to feel sorry for him. After Wawrinka choked and gave him the 1st set he really should have taken control from there.

Rafa is looking much better than he did in Toronto and Cincy. Whether it's enough to win remains to be seen. He works so hard to adapt his game for every surface I'd love to see him win.

I'm still skeptical about Fed. I'm worried he'll fold with a tough challenge. And Murry opening up the draw for Rafa is probably going to mess with his head. 

Djoker I don't know I really warmed up to him this summer watching the US Open Series. I don't know why. Wouldn't mind if he won. Up and down against Troicki played well against Peztschner and the parts of the Blake match I saw.

Most of my other faves are out. Cilic (he's been disappointing all year really). I was so excited to see Gonzo back but he retired in his first match. Del Potro and Tsonga are injured. Blake went further than I thought so that was good. Verdasco and Sod's dimples are still in the draw so I'm extremely pleased with that.

Misha forgot to say sorry about Elena. They both came up clutch at the end of the 3rd to save match points. Poor Elena seems like she'll never get over the hump. That was quality match they played last night. One of the best so far. The women's side has been pretty lackluster and lopsided. Hopefully they'll be much better this week. There's been more buzz about the outfits than the tennis.

I really want Venus or Svetlana to win. Venus isn't playing that well but Svetlana looks good.

The big match today is Wozniaki/Sharapova. But I think the Vera/Petkovic match looks to be more interesting.

I rather enjoyed to see Murray lose. Can't stand him and his annoying mom. Wawrinka totally deserved to get through - that was one of the best games I've seen him play.

Yeah, Rafa has a totally open road to the finals now as nobody in his side of the draw is a threat. Fed will have to work harder vs Melzer - Soderling - Djokovic.  Hope to see the classic final.

I'm still gloomy that Lena lost :(

Yeah, it's so unfair that Lena might end up without even one Major. Every time the little things just not going her way.

I sent telepathic messages to Sveta that she's my only hope now in the women's draw and she must not disappoint me :)

After the game, he said that he will be looking to make changies in his staff and will be searching for the new coach. My immediate thought was - If you want to make a positive change, tell your mom to stay away from the courts  ;)

They are grown enough to handle it on their own. I still remember how on Australian Open 08, after Djokovic beat Federer, his mom said 'The king is dead, long live the king'. No wonder he didn't win a single Major after that. Karma is a ...

Elena seriously. So talented. Has worked really hard on her serve. And such tough losses lately Wimby last year, RG earlier and now this. Schiavone has a slam. There's hope yet for her.

Venus has won 4 different outfits so far and each one is worse than the one before. She's made terrible fashion choices all year. But she isn't even the worst. That honor goes to this dress:

I have missed this whole tournament!    :'(  Had company this morning, having more this afternoon....just dropped "hi" and hope I can catch a match or two...sometime...

Also trying to follow FIBA, even without Rondo.  Although team USA is winning big, I am homer enough to think they would be playing even better with Rajon!  (But I am secretly glad he is not there...)

Is there an American left in the men's draw?  haven't been followng at all!

Didn't he already have this staff change speech a couple of times already? He needs to think long and hard about what he needs before he starts looking for a new coach.

Yeah a little too much celebrating in that AO from the Djokovic camp. I didn't like him for that longest time after that.

Fish is playing Djokovic on AA after the current match is over and Querrey plays Warinka tomorrow but the OOP isn't out yet.
