Hey Thomas Hamilton is looking to make a comeback too and just dropped 18-25 pounds!  Great, I bet he still weighs over 450lbs.  ;D

Seriously though, Pitino is known to run guys hard.  Probably one of the best situations for Toine to get back into top shape.  Would love to see Toine back in the league (just not for the C's, unless he's taking Donny's job).

Hell of a idea I am all for him taking Donny's Job now that he is on NBA TV.

Regardless of his weight, Antoine started losing his legs very early- he was already slowing down by age 27 or so.

The combination of huge minutes-played and never being in particularly good shape...  I'm not sure you can really recover from that.

Antoine's trying to put on a good show, get in camp, get in some preseason games, then go to Europe.  His last stint in Puerto Rico didn't go over all that well IIRC, so his agent needs some fresh tape to show teams.

I don't see how Walker fits back in the NBA.  Bad teams are usually trying to give minutes to young guys, and good teams are going to be looking for a backup who can give you more than what Walker's been able to give for a long time.

Seeing this thread title scared and intrigued me for a little bit....more scared than intrigued.

I'm rooting for him because I like happy endings.

Is this the start of the "Bring Back Antoine" threads or is THIS the bring back Antoine thread in disguise?

I'm sure the 4-6 teams "interested" were more interested in seeing how washed up he was. Doubt he has enough left in the tank to out play undrafted college kids/unsigned free agents.

BUT, best case scenario right?...................

He comes in amazing, great shape, better mindset, etc

Danny sends him an invite to our camp, and signs him for a Darius Miles type contract

Do you whine and cry and spam Ainge's inbox with hate letters, or accept that Antoine COULD be a better option than Marquis/Wafer at the backup 3?

Remember here, we're wishing the best and that Toine comes back great
Can't stop, Rondo!

See that's the thing - I thought that Toine played more like a 3 even when he was in the NBA, during his best years.

In the perfect scenario (coming back in the best shape of his last 5-6 years), yes I think he could come back as a SF in the league.

Our missing piece? Who knows...I know I'd love it, but only as long as he could produce for us. As much as I'd like to see him back in Green, I wouldn't want it to be where he rode the pine. He'd need to come in and give Pierce some solid minutes.

Talk about the "Green Redeem Team"....we've got MIA's cast-off in J.O.....an assumed washed-up future HOFer in Shaq.......maybe 'Toine??

That would be the Hollywood ending...much better then the Hollywood ending of last year.

I wouldnt mind that scenario if it did happen...but I don't think it will.

Four of the teams interested in 'Toine

1. Bakersfield Jam
2. Idaho Stampede
3. Reno Bighorns
4. Utah Flash

Obviously joking, but this might be the only way for Antoine to earn a check playing basketball while showcasing his talent.

Also, I don't think Antoine can play the 3 if needed because teams without a quicker 3 would counter by going small.

All this 'Toine talk is making me nostalgic...I'm waiting for Bryant Stith and Eric Williams.

I thought that when I saw him on NBA TV after we got Shaq that he was gone.  He was talking in past tense about the C's.

Maybe I was just reading to much in to it?   ???

How old is Toine these days anyhow? Last I remember hearing about him he couldn't land a spot on a Puerto Rican team or something like that.

Please no, it was not that good the first time.  It would be a bad move.   He was our best player for many years but that is simply a statement of how horrible we were.

This has to be a joke, (cuz no one could possibly take this for legit), but even as a joke, it's not funny. (This is where I wake up shivering ... covered in sweat, and thanking God it was just a nightmare!)

I think CSNNE should hire him to take Donny’s job. Antoine’s “love me, or hate me” aura is perfect for TV.
