There has been a three team trade:

SAC trades:  Andrea Bargnani, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Ryan Hollins, Tyler Hansborough
SAC receives:  Eric Dampier, Zach Randolph, Drew Gooden

LAL trades: Jeff Green, Drew Gooden, David Anderson
LAL receives: Andrea Bargnani, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Ryan Hollins

PHI trades:  Zach Randolph, Eric Dampier
PHI receives:  Jeff Green, Tyler Hansborough, David Anderson

Roy most people who pull off these types of crimes go away for a long time for rape.

ummm... what?
All I'm saying is that Sacramento clearly bested the other two teams in this swindle. They gave up four complete and utter scrubs for an All-Star and a another PF/C type that between them put up an average of 31 PPG and 20 RPG and also added an plus defensive center.

If it isn't rape, it's clearly highway robbery.

Add LAL disappoints me in this. They clearly were getting great value out of their last few trades and then gave it all back on this one.

Let's try not to use ugly words like "rape", please.  It's one of those words that can easily lead to arguments, when no offense was meant.

For whatever it's worth, Bargnani isn't a scrub, in my opinion.  However, I was happy with the return he netted.

How can he be a scrub when he was on the 2009 CBNBA Memphis Dangerfields... I mean Grizzlies.

As another reminder, rosters must be finalized tonight by 10:00pm.  Please post your finalized roster in the Transactions thread if your listed roster is not accurate.

Okay, sorry about that word.

Bargnani is a scrub. Any 7 footer that has a rebound percentage in almost single digits and is as soft defensively as Bargnani while having the game of a really, really slow SG is a scrub in my book.

Simply put he might be the softest 7 footer in the history of the league to ever get regular starting minutes.

Add LAL disappoints me in this. They clearly were getting great value out of their last few trades and then gave it all back on this one.

Let me explain:

Andrea Bargnani for Jeff Green.

i had like 4 guys that were tweaners at 6'9"...i had a problem with height(as people suggested) and only 1 center...bargnani 7' can play C and PF spreads the floor great shooter with 3 point range...(hes going to put up big numbers in Toronto this year with no bosh and
turkeyglue)..Pus i needed a legit 3rd scoring option for Roy and Curry...Chandler and Prince are more defensive players in my mind...Bargnani was the number 1 overall pick he is still young and with coach K, i think hes a good fit for the Lakers.

Gooden for Ilgauskas

again this was a trade for height.  to me this trade is even. Both are good rebounders...but i think ilgauskas's height 7'3" and great shooting would be perfect for my bench....plus gooden has been bouncing around the nba from teams so im not a big fan of gooden...i have to face dwight howard in my division so having three 7 footers is good for me.

PS: Philly was the one who made a bad trade, i don't understand it for Philly. Clearly some people love to get their favorite players and don't mind being less competitive as long as they're happy with their team.
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

Mago's rebounding has almost doubled over the past two years and he blocks 1.5 shots a game. He'll turn into a servicable rebounder, great scoring big who won't be a detriment defensively. But no one will notice because A) He'll play for Toronto his entire career and B) People will still, correctly, bemoan his #1 pick status.

I think Philly was, in part, trying to get younger.  They picked up young prospects in Jeff Green, Tyler Hansborough, and David Anderson (not quite young, but younger than Dampier).

Bargnani's rebound rate came in at 130th this year and out of all the centers in the league only 2 others had worse rebound rates. In 2008-09 he was the worst rebounding center in the league  according to rebound rate and the year before that he was the third worst rebounding center. His rebounding isn't getting better. He's simply playing more minutes per game. Andrea Bargnani is a horrible rebounder.

Not everyone is great at all aspects of the game...Bargnani is a great shooter and scorer..He is 7 feet tall and young his rebounding can only improve.

Meanwhile, Sacramento now has four players who ranked in the top 22 in terms of rebounding rate.  They went from a weak-to-mediocre rebounding front court, to one of the very best.

Zach Randolph eats babies.

But seriously, after watching the grizz all last season, I'm half convinced he inflates his own rebounding stats. There is not a game that goes by where he doesn't miss a wide open layup and then tip it back in.

Also known as the Big Baby Effect.  (Except BBD gets his shot blocked four times before putting the ball in the hole.)

And since most know how I feel about rebounding and how that correlates to winning, now you know why I think it was such a ridiculously lopsided trade in favor of Sactown.

Also, celticpride, Bargnani doesn't necessary have to get better at rebounding. He's had virtually the same rebounding rate for 4 years. He isn't getting better. He plays outside on offense. He's easily moved underneath on defense. He's allergic to contact. He's soft and nothing is changing that.

You never want your biggest player and center being one of the worst rebounders in your starting unit. Wonder why Toronto has been so bad with a superstar like Bosh on that team? Look no farther than the soft center and PG that that team has had on it the last few years. Soft, outside shooting, non contact Euro-FIBA type play does not translate to success in the NBA.

So you would want the celtics to trade kevin Garnett(15.1) for Dajuan Blair(20.6) because he has a better rebounding rate?
