2 quick questions regarding voting:

1.  when does voting begin and will there be a separate thread for it, or will it be in one of the already created threads?

2. When voting, regarding players who are injured......are we to assume they are healthy or at the same position they were in at season's end?  this should be looked at as it is extremely subjective.  some people might vote teams lower based on injuries, which the owner will then make the case they rehab and will be at their peak performance when healthy.

i havent commented on the draft at all throughout the long process, but have been reading and i intend to vote, but i wanted to clarify these things first.

based on the reaction we got for picking Perk, I'm thinking it is the status quo with injured players.  You should judge a team based on what they currently have to work with, and what they might have going forward.
Yup

1.  Voting for the playoff teams is Thursday and Friday of next week.  Votes will be PMed to Fafnir, and will later be posted publicly.  People will rank all of the teams in each conference.  GMs should not include their own team on their list.  Teams with multiple GMs can only submit one "team" ballot.

2.  Injuries exist, but the weight voters give them is up to them.  If a voter doesn't care about Bynum's / Oden's / Yao's / etc.'s injury history, they can choose to ignore it or minimize it.  Other GMs may decide to put more weight on injuries, and thus discount a roster with players who have a history of injuries.

what reds said, adding that it really is subjective.

using michael redd as an example because he's on my team, he's not supposed to come back until feb...but since the last time he came back he rushed back and  reinjured himself, I bet he'll take his time...

im operating under the idea that he won't be ready to play until the all_star break, and even then he'll take months to get to the point where he is anywhere near 'himself'. some would call that unrealistic, some would think im being overly cautious with my reservations.

subjective, see?

I hope I'm wrong on this, but I think Redd is toast.  Fair or unfair, I'm basically treating him like he's not on your team.  (And no, this isn't a Skip Bayless thing. ;))

yeah skip bayless would say something like that too. he'd say "im not doing this because im secretly trying to undermine your team in a fake meaningless celticsblog league...and that's something crazy people do!"

then he would go down to his basement where the floor walls and ceiling consist totally of mirrors and sit at the lone table in the middle, generously apply a smear of "red heat" lipstick, pick up the pencil and notepad on the table and cross off the entry called 'indeedproceed- chicago bulls'

that's EXACTLY somethin skip would do.

Ditto -- I think Redd is done.

At best, he is a marginal rotation player and an outright liability when he returns from injury.

Michael Redd is one of the reasons I am concerned about the Bucks next season. Him and Drew Gooden. Two players who could potentially do a lot of negative damage to that roster.

In a shocking move, Chicago is firing its head coach, Mike D'Antoni.

In his stead, I will be hiring the guy who also replaced him in real life, Alvin Gentry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 60% sure we're not doing that this year.

We're only having head coaches, all assistant coaching staffs are assumed to be average. So you'll have your full staff but no specific gurus.
