Next week owners have to present there team, starting lineups, and address concerns of other participates and lurkers.

Basically like a discuss your team thread but a thread for each division. Some people go a bit nuts with a huge post of TLDR for me of fluff.

What is this press conference thing?

Basically, you present your team.  It can be as simple or elaborate as you want.  Some GMs use pictures and videos, others don't.  The things to talk about are basically your philosophy in constructing the team, why you like it and how you think it matches up, etc.

Then, after your presentation (along with other people in your division) other GMs can ask you questions.

You can find past examples here:

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=31052.0

The "guidelines" expressed therein were:

Quote
Here, each of the GMs representing a team in the Southeast Division will provide an introduction / summary of their team, draft strategy, etc.  Other members should ask questions (directed to one or more GMs), and those GMs should attempt to answer the questions as well as they can.

For those participating, the opening blurbs can include some or all of the following:

1. Roster / depth chart
2. Statistics
3. Pictures
4. Statement regarding drafting philosophy (building for the future, contending now, etc.)
5. Toughest decision
6. Best move (trade, pick, etc.) / worst move
7. Your outlook for this coming season

It can be as substantial or as abbreviated as you want it to be.  These threads are open to all members, not just those posters who participated in the draft.  The more participation we get, the better.

If you want an example of a REAL press conference. Here's one I did last year after wdleehi promised a 100 tp's to anyone who could finish their press conference w/in five minutes (including pictures)

Or, if you want to see a press conference that runs the razors edge between entertainment and knowledge with the agility of a cold war era russian gymnast, check out this press conference:

I could have sworn that Earl Clark was taken prior to now, but I don't see that reflected on the front page.

If anybody has him, speak now, so as not to jam up the Knicks.

That was about 9,000 words too long for me to read.

Apparently your attention span is only for negative 3500 words. And they say the kids don't know how to read anymore....

That pretty much sums me up. Proactively disinterested.

I searched the forum and he was taken last year, but not this year from what I can see.

I had Earl Clark listed as an available player. I am pretty sure he wasn't taken.
