Round 7, Pick One, Landry Fields

Here is what Thorpe has to say about him, and D'Antoni already loves him.

Quote
Landry Fields, G, New York Knicks
When he first steps onto the court and when he walks off of it at game's end, the perceptions of Fields changes dramatically. He looks like a deer (compared to most NBA players in his position) but plays like a tiger. Smooth with the ball, aggressively attacking angles, a fluid shot -- he has a perfect game for the Knicks' offense. If he's one of the two worst offensive players on the floor, then that offense will be extremely potent. Every time I saw him play I said to myself, "Great draft pick."

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

TP Who. You took my 2 favorite SFs from this year's draft class. Both should be NBA ready players and able to contribute

Quincy Poindexter will no doubt be remembered as fondly in Golden State as Wil Solomon was in Boston.
Yup

Very nice pick -- lots of excellent picks to start out this round

Aren't we in the 12th currently?  I guess you can ask CFF about one of his 11ths. ;)

Corey Maggette
Don't like this trade for Milwaukee. Prince is a good player that fits seemlessly in with other players. With the Elbows starting five his fit was excellent.

With Maggette that all changes. He is a black hole offensively and considers himself to be the best offensive player on the floor at all times. The Elbows offensive cohesion just shot itself in the foot, IMHO.

Not wild about Maggette + Dirk + Rip offensively ... I think they'll get in one another's way.

I think using Maggette as a sixth man would help the team get more out of it's best scorers.
