Basically, you can pick anybody living to coach your team.  That can be a high school, college, or NBA coach, and assistant, or somebody who has never coached before.

Whoever you pick would be at their current level of coaching ability, rather than in their "prime".  In other words, if you select a 90 year old man, he's going to coach like he would at age 90.

Excellent pick.  I was a little surprised that he lasted this long.  This is the second best PG pick of the round (behind Kyle Lowry, but in terms of value, probably ahead of Steve Blake, another good choice.)

FWIW I think Earl Watson is the best of that 4-some (Wastson, Udrih, Lowry, Blake), in part b/c he's the best defender and a solid offensive distributor.

Hold up with the coaching picks, guys.  A few folks have jumped in line.

Here is the order of the coaches round, as posted on the front page:

1. Utah Jazz Greg Popovich
2. San Antonio Spurs Doc Rivers
3. Miami Heat Phil Jackson
4. Houston Rockets Jeff Van Gundy
5.  Memphis Grizzlies Nate McMillan
6.  Los Angeles Clippers Don Nelson
7.  Los Angeles Lakers Mike Krzyzewski
8.  Milwaukee Bucks Tom Thibodeau
9.  Denver Nuggets Larry Brown
10. Minnesota Timberwolves Scott Brooks
11. Orlando Magic Kevin Stallings
12. Portland Trailblazers Jerry Sloan
13. New Orleans Hornets Stan Van Gundy
14. Boston Celtics Pat Riley
15. Charlotte Bobcats Eric Spoelstra
16. Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin McHale
17. Toronto Raptors Larry Bird
18. Golden State Warriors Scott Skiles
19. Philadelphia 76ers
20. Dallas Mavericks
21. Washington Boxers
22. New York Knicks
23. Detroit Pistons
24. Phoenix Suns
25. New Jersey Nets
26. Indiana Pacers
27. Sacramento Kings
28. Atlanta Hawks
29. Oklahoma City Thunder
30. Chicago Bulls

Right now, Philly is on the clock.

The rule about your coaching pick being due when your regular pick is due only applies if your coaching choice is on the clock.

Any choice made out of order is void, and those coaches are still available.

I firmly have Watson 4th out of that group.

My B in jumping the coach queue. Nets pick is redacted until the appropiate time.
