With the 16th pick in the 8th round, the Utah Jazz select: Wesley Johnson

Great pick. Rookies are being badly undervalued thus far. Hard to argue that Johnson won't be more productive out of the gates than say, Ronnie Brewer or Mo Evans.

Rookies are unproven in the game, and it's really tough to sell them. Particularly this rookie class.

Is there much expectation that Johnson will be 1/2 the defender R.Brewer is?!? He might get some gaudy stats in MIN (or maybe not considering how disfunctional they are) but there's no chance he's as good a defender by the end of the year... Brewer is a top 20 wind defender in the NBA.

I have a selection to make a 9.12 (3:25) PM and I won't be available. Would someone who's going to be around be kind enough to make my pick?

TP's are always paid. Thanks.

I'll do it if you want. I don't pick til 28

Awesome, thanks. I'll send you a list.

Top 20 wind defender yes...but can he defend basketball players?

Johnson will be eased into my lineup.   I think his defense is close to NBA ready already.  He's got that great wingspan and he was pretty solid in college.

Rookies are unproven in the game, and it's really tough to sell them. Particularly this rookie class.

Lucky just drafted (14th round pick) Jonas Jerebko to wide approval. 9th round pick Brandon Jennings was a 2nd round pick in 2010. Evans, Curry, Thornton, Holiday, Gibson, etc.

This is in part an imaginative exercise, and for Johnson to slide to the 8th round requires that rookies be willfully ignored.

ANYWAY...

As did I. He was one of four players I considered at 8.5. Fingers crossed that one slides to 8.22.

Raja Bell is currently growing out his mustache.
Kyle Lowry
Wesley Johnson
TBA

Still offering 8.29 and 10.22 - don't be fooled by the giant green font, it's still the best public offer available.

Jennings, Jerbko, Holiday, Gibson all proved they were good as rookies.

Wesley Johnson hasn't probed anything yet.

Of course...your type of reasoning is exactly the type of thought process I'd expect from a team with a boogie on it.
