Number 1, Randolph finally found someplace where he fit last year and it turned out pretty well for them, they are young!!! Secondly why all the hate for Rudy Gay, im not paying him a max deal so take that out of the equation. He is a great wing player who is young and only gonna get better. I like this squad and with a few tweaks its gonna be pretty good.

Randolph is a 21/12 guy, and Gay adds another 20/6.  If the right role players are put around them, that's potentially a good foundation.

LOL

You keep selling that now. You know what greenteam has coming at him in the press conferences and conference runoffs

If you think he's catching unfair flack now.....wait.

Sorry GT I warned you about Randolph. The feedback will not be good.

Well...  I wouldn't have made the trades if I didn't think I was coming out ahead.  I personally dislike the games of both Randolph and Josh Smith, so I was psyched to get Boozer.  The trade involving Rudy Gay was tougher, though...  I still think he's an amazingly talented player.  I just wanted a point guard.

Marc Gasol isn't a guy you build a team around in my mind, and neither is OJ Mayo (he's a SG in a PG body)

Gasol I understand saying has an all around game, but Mayo over Gay?

I'm not a Rudy Gay fan, but Mayo is a rather one-dimensional player.

Mayo is a better defensive player than Gay. A little undersized but can man up most SG's with his strength. Very underrated defender.

He is also a wlling passer just not in the offense he is in.

IMO Gay is one dimensional. He can score but does not pass (1.7 apg career). He does rebound but I am not looking for rebounding out of my SG position that Mayo is playing.

Don't even worry about it, man.  Like IP said about 40 pages ago, the most important thing is that you like your team.

Mayo is not a good defender, he's not a good passer, and he's not a good rebounder.

I'm not a huge Rudy Gay fan either so when I say he's better than Mayo that's saying something!

I really don't like the games of either OJ Mayo or Rudy Gay.

Plus I just said good things about Zach Randolph.

I need to brush my teeth, blech!

Those stats say Randolph is a better defender than Mayo which is wrong. Read any analysis on Mayo's game. Watch him play. He can defend.

I dont understand the statement he is not a good passer. You dont have a stat to back that up. He plays the Ray Allen role in that offense which is not condusive to racking up assists. But he is not a black hole either. He is capable of scoring without dominating the ball.

I understand not being high on Gasol but I think you are severely underrating Mayo. He is an efficient and explosive shooter who will get better this year.

Roy and Faf are going to be the only one's that give you some support for this trade GT. The rest of the owners. Yikes.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Nick I do think Roy came out ahead on the trade, I said that before.

Mayo isn't a good passer at all, he tried to play PG in summer league and turned it over like a drunken sailor. And the stats, my eyes, and plenty of analysis I've read about (some on sites some in the CB forums) Mayo say he's a bad defender.

Okay I guess I am saying that he can move the ball like Ray Allen. If Ray tried playing PG he would turn the ball over a lot as well. However would you say Ray is a bad passer? No. Remember I said he is a willing passer and a better passer than Gay. Gay scores in isolation while Mayo can thrive in a ball moving offense.

Regarding his defense, most analysis I have read by guys like Hollinger indicate that Mayo will trend into a good to great defender in the NBA. I think he struggled through some stretches last season but finished strong.

It is clear we will not agree on this. Bottom line is that I think Gay is what he is. Mayo has a higher ceiling in my opinion.
