We have our second trade:

Washington sends 1.26 and 5.5

Boston sends 2.22 and 3.22

Interesting.  Looks like somebody is following the CrotoNats winning strategy of winning via depth.

Well, if anyone else is interested in such a move, I have a  higher 2nd (4) and 3rd (4) to offer.

I'm guessing you want more than the #26, huh?  :P

I would guess that would be true.

call me :)

I'm still interested in dropping back from my 4th overall pick. Will only accept trade offers that include #1 pick, and it has to be lower than 15th overall.

I'm afraid we've had another GM, misha, who's had to drop out of the game due to unfortunate circumstances.

The New Jersey Nets are therefore available to any interested parties, please PM me. The requirements for participation as laid out in the first post of this thread still apply.

Can I throw a tip out there for from a "savvy veteran"?

I think those GMs who are most successful are the ones who initiate trade offers by sending lots and lots of PMs -- and lots of lots of trade offers -- rather than the ones who say "PM me".  The person who makes the first offer is the one who sets the basic parameters for a deal, and I think more often than not, it's the person who makes the initial offer who wins the trade.  (Not always, though.  Some people just overpay, even in an opening offer.)

If anybody is running into problems with the PM limits, let me know, and I'll lift any restriction your account may have.

Newsflash- Stoyko has made a last minute Cubanesque bid for the New Jersey franchise via PM. With his enthusiasm and brain type on display during the Historical draft as GM of the 76ers, Slavic sounding name, and willingness to pick Scalabrine as Asst. GM, Stoyko is confident his bid will at least be considered by the very good looking draft commissioner.

There has been another trade:

CHA sends 1/23 and 6/23
HOU sends 2/17 and 4/14

In my effort to comment on every trade made...  I like this one quite a bit better for Houston.

A bit of a gamble on my part. Going against my usual strategy of sliding down to acquire assets. Hoping two big guns will win the Southwest.

I don't think it's that big of a gamble; giving up a mid-fourth to move up 20 slots is pretty darn good value on its own, let alone getting a 6th to go along with it.

(Of course, KC is a good manager, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing, and will make me look stupid for questioning him.)

My reasoning was pretty simple, with the exception of one player who inexplicably fell and won't again this year, the difference between players taken at or after 23  and at or near 17th in the second round is small. In reality is there that big a difference between LaMarcus Aldridge and Emeka Okafor? Kevin Martin and Vince Carter? There is, however a huge difference between Kenyon Martin and Craig Smith.
