Scal's not under contract so we can't trade him. Plus, Nobody wants Scal at near midlevel money so S&T is out of the question. All we have is Sheed's contract and I think that would be a waste of a really nice asset.

kapono is not worth the mle, i think if we sign scal to the amount he was making before, we can do a s/t and bring in a nice 3 pt shooter

If philly is Scal's only option I dont see why he wouldnt just sign for the celtics for whatever amount philly was gonna offer him then just trade him for Kapono.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

No one would trade Scal for Kapono.  Its not even close to equal value.

What about Scal and one of the rooks?

Maybe if we did a deal that would net us a player and a trade exception we could turn around and trade that exception for Kapono. No way we do Sheed for him straight up.

The 76ers are open to trading swingman Jason Kapono, reports ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Stein writes that the Clippers and Kings could have interest in Kapono's three-point shooting ability.

Well a straight up Sheed for Kapono works on the trade machine, but I am not sure if the 76ers are trading him to dump salary or to receive a player in return. I have not watched Kopono much so I have no clue what-so ever on whether he would be a nice fit on the team, but I would like to know the opinions of those who have watched him play.

Could do better but i guess we could also do much worse. I think there is more available for Sheed's contract. Kapono would be a nice shooter off the bench but his defense isnt great and that is what we need. He is pricey but his salary does come off the books next year. Not a bad desperate option for us...

A taller white version of Eddie House.  I'll pass.

I'd rather trade Rasheed's contract to Portland for Fernandez and Pryzbilla. Pryzbilla is a solid big man and comes off the books after this season. He'll be out for the 1st 4 to 6 weeks of the season, but I don't think that's a deal breaker. Plus I'd rather have Fernandez than Kapono. I like Kapono, but Fernandez is more versatile. I really think Sheed and a 1st round pick could get that deal with Portland done. It might not even take the 1st rounder now that Fernandez said he'd rather go back to Spain if Portland doesn't deal him.

Kapono is a bigger version of Eddie House. Just as versatile though.

He is a great shooter I would like to have him on the roster, its going to take more than Scal.   Our draft picks won't hold too much value because we will be picking later than 18 I would wager.

Jason Kapono hurts his teams more than he helps them.

He costs his team more points through his inability to defend + atrocious rebounding than he creates with his shooting ability.
