No thank you.

Over payed shooter that doesn't seem to know or understand that his job is to be behind the three point line when he shoots.

He is not on the top of the list, but if nothing better is available, he would be a nice option.

First, he is a great shooter, who knows how to play NBA basketball.  He could immediately step in and be an important part of the bench, opening up the floor for guys like JO and Davis, and making sure Pierce and Allen don't get burnt out early in the season.

And second, he is an expiring contract.  So, if an upgrade comes available midseason, they could move him again.

Right now, I think the well is drying up a bit for trades of Sheed, and they may not open again until midseason when teams start selling off players.  So, if we miss out on the bigger prizes this summer, he would be a nice option to keep that asset alive (albeit a bit less valuable), while not having to count on vet minimum guys to hold down the fort.

Sometimes you have to bit the bullet and overpay if you want talent on your team.  Not sure I would overpay for Kapono though, knowing we'll still need to add some defense.

Kapono's pretty much the same player as Kyle Korver, isn't he?  Very good outside shooter (although his percentage last year dipped pretty dramatically).  Doesn't do much of anything else.  Not many rebounds, not many assists.

Seems like he'd be a decent pickup.  If you re-signed Q, could maybe play alongside him, fairly complementary skillsets (although neither rebounds worth a [dang]).

Philly's interest solely in saving a couple million bucks?  Would they be looking for anything more than 'Sheed's deal and maybe some $$ to pay for 'Sheed's buyout?

Except Korver knows where the three point line is.

If he would plant himself outside the arc, he would be useful.

Is this just frustration from watching him?  It's a curious reason not to want a player.  Does he shoot a lot from just inside the line?  Or is it the offensive system?

As a minimum-salary player, he'd definitely be a good pickup. At ~6 mil, I wouldn't want to give up a chip as good as Rasheed's contract.

He has only 1 NBA skill: long range shooting. As seen by his rebounding, steal, and block totals, his athleticism is of the Scalabrine variety. Now there's definitely a place for long-range shooters. I was an Eddie fan. But I wouldn't want to trade assets for him if he was making $6 mil.

Last year Kapono took almost 60% of his shot attempts from downtown (career best) versus 40% and 25% in the two years prior to that in Toronto.

Kapono still thinks of himself as a scorer first and shooter second (from his college days). He needs to be coupled with a coach who'll make him stay behind the three point line and/or a teammate(s) (eg Wade + Shaq) who'll create that same dynamic.

Hmmm, well, I think that can be easily corrected.  Doc is an excellent offensive coach, and he would set him straight.  Again, not the ideal solution, but not a bad plan B.

I also think working with Ray Allen would be great for him, BTW.  I think it could really help him refine his game.
