TP Boom for the info.

I like this deal.  reasonable for all teams involved and helps fill the C's bench with 2 players that can help in the rotation.  they're not gangbuster pickups but definitely serviceable players.

bench would be
bradley, luke, BBD, brewer and wright to start with.  add a resigned nate, perk when healthy and a vet min big and vet min wing and this isn't a terrible bench.  get Kurt Thomas or even Battie as the vet big and that would be solid.

yep, but i believe both guys have the potential to get significantly better. Wright has excellent tough from 15 feet in, and Brewer is an excellent fir as a role player on a d-oriented team like the Cs.

Okay, just putting Minnesota in a trade and saying that "Kahn is crazy enough to do it" doesn't validate whatever trade idea you're proposing.

But it sure is fun!

The trade would be nice for the Celtics, I will say that.

And considering the new ownership will likely want to dump Ellis as quickly as possible, it's not far fetched...

As for your expanded version, I think I would prefer Kosta Koufas coming in and Oliver Lafayette going out.  I think with Rasheed's trade kicker (15%), it would work with Hollins coming in and either Koufas or Stiemsma going to GS.  I think the Celtics need to think very carefully about their center options.

Perk will likely not return before February and it is legitimate to question whether he will be able to contribute next year at all.  O'Neal is no spring chicken and has missed a lot of games due to injuries in the past.  Garnett prefers not to bang inside and is under-weighted for such duty.  Big Baby is game but very under-heighted for such duty.  Erden is an iffy option, especially in the early part of the season.  Picking up a 4th center, who may see lots of time, seems prudent but will have roster implications rippling down.

this article has me feeling that it's more and more likely that ellis will be dumped. he's the last locker room cancer they have.

How does the article tell you that Ellis will be moved. It doesn't mention him or even hint that there is a cancer in the clubhouse.

The Golden State situation will be interesting to follow because once new ownership is finalized, I see Larry Riley and Don Nelson being instantly fired with a new GM coming in and hiring a coach and then making changes.

Raheed's contract might be pretty valuable as a trade asset with Golden State at that time, but I doubt they can do anything with them until then.

Fair point. difficulty in this situation is that it could take 2-3 months for them to begin changes. but you wonder if there will be some push to accomplish a few more goals this offseason -- clearly the new owners have their opinion of where the want to go. they're not sharing it, but considering what they've been watching it shouldn't be hard to imagine...
