Posted this in a separate thread, but liked it so much thought i'd start fresh:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=24usngr

For Golden State: they rid themselves of Ellis to make room for Curry, get a real NBA caliber back-up 1 in Sessions who fits their system and will defer to Curry, and save money which they desperately need to do. Hollins fits PERFECTLY as a back-up 5 under Nellie. Wright has no role on this team behind Lee and Udoh.

For Minny: who cares? Kahn is crazy enough to trade for a guy like Ellis, play him at the 2, and see what happens as long as he has stretch players like Love, Webster and Beasley on the team.

For Boston: It's a dunk. An excellent wing defender and a 4 with true upside for Sheed's deal. They probably have to give up a 2nd or maybe a 1st to get these bozos to actually bite on it.

2 of these teams have the dumbest front offices in the league. So please factor this when considering the feasibility.

Thoughts?

I believe it. But then why did they take Udoh with the 6th pick in the draft, then signed David Lee to an $80mil deal? I think they'd dump him to get a real player or two -- AND immediate salary relief-- back for Ellis.

Very interesting proposal.  I love it for the celts.  The Wolves might just be crazy enough to go for Ellis.  I think it definitely improves them talent-wise, but wonder if their willing to take on Ellis' contract.  GSW would be giving up a lot and getting little back.  Thats the side that turns it down if any I believe.  It could happen thought.  I like it.

I like it.  Wright needs to get out of GS.  He doesn't fit.

Okay, just putting Minnesota in a trade and saying that "Kahn is crazy enough to do it" doesn't validate whatever trade idea you're proposing.

You don't think the trade makes any sense for Minny? For example, do you think Ellis would be successful in the triangle? They're accomplishing a goal by ridding themselves of Sessions, they're limited of scoring at the 2 right now, and they're getting a dynamic scorer in exchange for peripheral pieces....

Well I definitely like the return, Brewer and Wright.  It would get GS under the cap so in addition to saving nearly 7 million they would participate in the Luxury distribution next July.  Problem is that GS is left without a starting SG.  Perhaps Reggie Williams who is a G/F tweener plays SG with Dorell Wright on board.  Pehaps Curry plays more SG with Sessions on board and although they like Stephen's progress at the point, they might like that.  I think the fan base, Nellie, and management may be meh about shedding Ellis but the backlash from Maggette (their other huge contract/limited player) seems minimal.  Other than that they only have Charlie Bell.  Might work, wonder if sale pending makes it more or less likely?

From the Minn viewpoint they give up their starting SG for Ellis, going from goodD/poorO to goodO/poorD.  The other pieces are Sessions who they want to go and Hollins who is buried in a log jam at C, probably no problem, likely a plus.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  If Minn sees Ellis as a better fit he certainly makes them more potent offensively and the triangle should provide lots of shots.

Thanks for the thoughtful repsonse.

I hear you -- i think you'd see them play Curry off the ball a little more, tho he'd have it in his hands a lot. Sessions likely starts next to him and they resign CJ Watson as his back-up. It makes them Curry's team, which it's time they do. I don't know how much more value they can hope to get for Ellis than immediate salary relief, a good player in Sessions, and late rotation fit like Hollins...

TP Boom for the info.

I like this deal.  reasonable for all teams involved and helps fill the C's bench with 2 players that can help in the rotation.  they're not gangbuster pickups but definitely serviceable players.

bench would be
bradley, luke, BBD, brewer and wright to start with.  add a resigned nate, perk when healthy and a vet min big and vet min wing and this isn't a terrible bench.  get Kurt Thomas or even Battie as the vet big and that would be solid.
