Looks like Mike Miller is receiving some pressure to back out of his deal with the Heat. I don't think this would really benefit the Celtics unless we could put together a sign and trade using Sheed's deal. It would be nice if the Heat were left at the alter though:

I think it would be a huge benefit for the Celtics if Mike Miller went anywhere but the Heat/Lakers.

I still expect him to sign with the Heat when it's all said and done.

Who knows? Maybe Greg Dickerson reported initially that Mike Miller was a done deal with Miami. We know his track record.

Exactly. Pressure and all, it's a good fit for him talent wise, nice weather, and a legit shot at a ring.

Its not like he's taking Lebron pressure, lol, he'll sign with Miami. They want him too badly, and I really believe he wants to be there just as badly at this point.

It's not like he would have a better role on Miami than say the Cs or the Lakers....

I would think the Cs and the Lakers would be just as appealing to play for as the Heat.

If we could S&T him for say 4 years and 32 mil I would think he would seriously have to consider that....

If there is indeed time, lets pounce on this.

Miller would get plenty of playing time in Boston: 30+ minute per game. More money via the Sheed contract.

Sources are now saying he's strongly considering Boston, with Ray Allen pulling for him.

Would Ainge commit 16 mil combined in years 3 and 4 after allowing TA to walk for 3 mil in year 3?

I would love it, but it's hard to see it happening.

I'll be happy enough if he avoids the Heat.

Mike Miller >>>>>>>>>>> Tony Allen.

Wondering if he's getting pressure from union-types, for intentionally walking away from so much money.  Seems like he's taking a lot more of a haircut to join the Heat bandwagon than the three big guys; given what we've seen transpire this offseason (i.e. Travis Outlaw's contract), hard to see how Mike Miller's value is any less than $8M/per.

Would absolutely LOVE for Mike Miller to come aboard in a S&T, using 'Sheed's contract.  As noted, would love for him to go ANYWHERE except Miami (but he's such a perfect fit here, even moreso with TA gone).

what kind of pressure could teams put on Miller not to join the Miami Heat.

$$$$

The guy should be worth 8-10 million per year for 3-5 years.

With Miami He'd be getting only 5.5 million per year. Are the Heat worth that kind of discount?
