Hold up,are we speaking of the Baby, who started last year after KG,Powe,& Scal went down to injury only to lose our #1 seed.Who we have watched aid opponents comebacks.Baby, who in the last two starts of the season was MIA because either buried on bench or broken hand, watch Celts get off to record starts without him. Baby, who Doc went to bat for,got ejected, then had Tom Tib stick with until Atlanta completed a 20 plus comeback.(Big)Baby who guaranteed a game7 victory, and failed to provide 5 fouls only after Sheed's injury. Up by 13,he comes in...u know da rest.I won't mention that every big has gone down to injury leaving him to to grab unnecessary attention. He makes our defense worst, evidence by getting more off.rbds than def.rbds per week. When did u ever see him give an outlet pass for a fastbreak?Does His stats support a player with no ups, enough speed or agility.Does da crying, kid bumping, drooling, too slow to jump with Dwight, that he got knocked out amuse any of you?!? He is a cancer,Sheed was just on his 2nd unit & took da blame, just look at how Sheed started da season.Sheed was on fire til Baby healed. Cedric Maxwell complains how bad da spacing is on the floor, everytime Baby plays. No more to game 7 loses starring BBD!He is bad for Rondo, bad for this team. >:(

Use more spaces. Trying to read this just made my head hurt.

I'm not sure spaces would have helped.

  Couldn't resist.

Right about the spaces, my bad. Yeah,I don't buy Baby and his game. I'm amazed at how KG can propel this team to the Finals less than 100% healthy. Baby did improve, but not enough. I want players that make Rondo look good. Baby doesn't do that, his offensive rebounds says the team doesn't shoot well with him in there, not that he's tough.

So who was playing PF when KG & Powe were hurt?  Didn't we nearly beat the Magic, who then beat the Cavs to play the Lakers?
This year he was forced to play inside when Sheed was on the floor.  He has a good mid-range jumper, but couldn't use it.
I'd buy your whole "he gave up the lead" stuff if it was consistently his guy who scored double digits.  But the whole 2nd unit struggled offensively for much of the year.  Maxwell was right, the spacing in the 2nd unit stunk but that isn't all BBD's fault.  He's got faults, but he plays hard most nights and usually ends up on the winning side.

Easy answer to this question.

If we trade Baby, we can start new threads titled, "Bringing Back Baby!" and "I Want My Baby Back!"

Love that comment  ;D

It is not that people want to trade him per se.

We all just want him to lose 30lbs and grow 5 inches.

I would move Baby because I think he's reached his ceiling. I don't think he will be much better or provide more to a team than he does now.

... and not get his shot blocked, pass out of the post, play some defense, and be consistent.

I mean come on. We're already short on our bench and you want to get rid of our hands-down best player off the bench! ......

Plus, once our big three is gone he could potentially start!
1) Best bench player?  Don't you mean only bench player?  And that is why he is in trade scenarios.  If you aren't trading a starter, and you are trading a player rather than, or in addition to, a contract, then you are trading Big Baby.  He is all there is.
2) If Big Baby is starting in the wake of the Big Three's departure, then we are positioning for the draft.

That's tough luck. Most wives would want you to lose 30 lbs *or* grow 5 inches, but not expect both.

When Rondo reaches his ceiling, would you like to move him too?

Completely different players. Rondo is clearly a starting PG on any team that doesn't have one.

You can't say Baby is clearly a starting PF or C in this league yet, and forever will be undersized for his position.

The reason is the Celtics simply don't have many trade chips right now and Davis is the most valuable he is ever going to be in the league. Next summer (depending on lockout) he will probably get an offer exceeding what management will pay, though it's always possible they might at least get something back in a sign-and-trade.

That being said, the Celts' best (only) chance will be the next two seasons and it would be risky to trade a player who 1) has established himself as a regular rotation guy and 2) has performed well in the playoffs and under pressure. You'd really have to make sure you're getting something solid in return, i.e. someone Doc will actually play.

And you know he reached his ceiling how? ::) I don't think you trade a player just because he reached his ceiling.  If he's valuable to your team, then he's valuable to your team, whether he reached his ceiling or not.

And this is relevant why?

Last time I checked, only 5 players  start, and the remainder of the active roster comes off the bench.

Classy Baby Hater pic by BBD,he sure is maturing before our eyes, ain't he. Is that the hand his friend...nevermind. So now we should expect Baby to handle Amare & Bosh, because he's proven himself against Dwight? Yes,Baby does give max effort on the court,I see him diving all over the floor. I never said that was an issue, just the results & sideshows irk me. If Battier,Fernandez/Przybilla or even Tayshaun match up for Sheed & Baby's contract, you have to make that trade.
