It's funny to look back and think about that fact that just a few short years ago, we wanted this guy on our team, and the ESPN hype machine had some of us believing that he was the second coming of Larry Bird.

Topps certainly thought so:

Yup

Hillarious...

Look at that picture! no wonder he can't shoot. Look at that elbow!

I'm going to admit that I was a little intrigued by Morrison when I knew he would be a free agent at year end.  I tend to think that players that get drafted high will eventually show that promise that made them high draft choices.  Sadly this is proven wrong time and again and just shows that some players are meant for college ball only.

Even pre-draft I had second thoughts about this guy as he tested athletically lower than Reddick on everything but was being considered for the number one overall choice while Orlando received some backlash for drafting Reddick as high as they did.

His shooting has been horrendous at the NBA level and he was force fed minutes and shots in his rookie year, so this kid has had many chances but just isn't good enough.

The Boston Celtics are here to take another look at Adam Morrison. They were in attendance for Morrison's multi-team workout yesterday.

Before the entire blog trashes the guy, I should remind everyone that it wasn't his fault that he got hurt before he could develop. There is still a chance he might develop as he scored a zillion different ways in college despite the defense focusing on him. Not many guys had the all around game that he did. I was never a giant fan of us but the fact that he could score so many different ways was impressive and I remember him being effective going down the lane with no fear because he had such good control of his body. I always thought he was a risk because of the type 1 diabetes (it runs in my family and the risks are high even with an athlete). However he didn't have insignificant skill. He just got hurt early in his career and then got stuck behind some good players.

Depending on how Adam is utilized, I guess he could be a very good player at 2. Tall (6'8"), intelligent and quick, he could be a problem for a lot of opposing teams he plays at SG. I agree that he does not have an insignificant skill. He could at times slide from 2 to either  1 or 3 depending on the opposing lineup.
He was never number 3 over all in the 2006 Draft and Rookie of the Year for nothing. He is truly a talent. We could use him as Ray's back up and could be a mismatch to a lot of teams at SG since he's got a SF size playing SG.

I quoted oldmanspeaks and accidentally inserted my abovementioned opinion in his write up. Mine are the last 2 paragraphs.

No, and why do Adam Morrison threads keep appearing?

If they want the equivalent of a male Celtic's dancer sitting on the bench the Celtics might as well hire me.

I am 6'4 in shoes 240lbs and can carry about 6 bags.  I can also remember lunch orders with the best of them.  I can dance better then Adam, wont steal hi 5's...and look better in a tailored suit.  They don't even have to pay me.

I'm not even sure he could be a good practice player. If he did well in the summer league then I guess maybe, but I don't think he's doing that now.

Absolutely not...We'd be better off resigning Larry Bird to the vet min.
