I'm pretty shocked the Cs FO whiffed on Tony like that. Being over the cap, they didn't really have the luxury to lowball him. Maybe they were just simply not willing to give that 3rd year.

Ugh, 3/10 for TA would of been a freaking bargain . This hurts, his defense and athleticism was HUGE for us.

I have no interest in Marquis coming back, but dont know who else we could get cheap. I wonder if TA gave Danny a chance to match the offer.

I don't want Quis back....and TA's defense will def be missed. I am surprised DA didn't try to keep TA.

I'd take Daniels back as a reserve, especially if we can get a real SF.

Maybe Danny drew a line in the sand because he had something else in play.

Only thing I feel sure of - we MUST have someone on the bench to cover Wade, Lebron, Kobe, etc. in the playoffs. Paul and Ray can't handle that and deliver good offense.

His defense and athleticism cant be replaced.

Who can play hard nosed defense like him that we can afford and be comfortable with on the floor when the games actually count? I couldn't name anybody.

I would go as far as to say without Tony advancing to the finals will be very tough. This is terrible news.

I think if it's really 3 years for 10 million, then it's clear that Ainge didn't want him back and has someone else in mind.

It seems to be the most plausible explanation but what could he have in mind that meant letting Tony go was a necessity? ???

What's the big plan for the 2012 offseason that TA's 3.4 mil would have obstructed?

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Daniels is better than nothing, as long as we get a wing who can shoot.

Why is Chris Wallace always trying to screw us? >:(

Thank God!!!

Good Riddance!!!

No more having to worry whether good Tony or Bad Tony showed up. No more Tony dribbling up on a fast break while ignoring his PGs and then turning the ball over. No more accosting three point shooters because of a horrible head fake that Tony bit on. No more horrendous outside shots.

No more Tony Allen!!! Yahoo!!!!

Hmmmmmm.

Now I guess I will have to live with all the "Bring Back Tony Because He Was The Best Defensive Wing Since Basketball Was Invented!!" threads.

Yuk.

Maybe this wasn't such a great thing after all.

As much as I disliked Tony's play in the past he did really grow on me this year, especially the way he played Kobe in the finals. Loosing him would be a fairly big blow but even if we resign him I still think we need a longer more athletic above the rim wing to play the SF position. I dont like when Tony is on the court as a SF, lets keep him to the SG position.

thank you, glad someone pointed this out. suddenly people forgot about all his bad qualities and the fact that we're waiting for him to reach his potential but he's 28. How well have Posey, Powe, and House done since leaving the celtics? Ainge has been right in every case.

You know, maybe Gerald Green could fill that role.

I hear he's available.
