I'd take it as an insult that I only got one vote,  but because I know that it's just because everyone is JEALOUS on how great my team is I'll say 'thankyou, suckers.'

This, unfortunately, has devolved down into nothing more than a popularity contest between the participants without anyone caring to judge the actual teams that were assembled.

I take extreme offense to this comment ... I spent a LOT of time putting my team's presentation together, with a lot of thought put into each member, typing up paragraphs for each entry, videos for each ... and if there's one thing I'm NOT here at CB, is "Mr. Popular"!!

That said, I hereby officially WITHDRAW my team for consideration in the category, to avoid any more similar accusations. Stupid me, I thought this was for fun!

A sincere thanks to Redz for the game, it was great up until this point ... I hope I haven't ruined it for anyone else.

i dont think u should withdraw based on one person's view. i think u should reconsider this decision.

there is no way am i expected to justify my vote to appease one poster, but i will explain my vote:

there is no surprise that bahku and i have a good realtionship with each other.  he has done nothing but try to always better the community feel to the blog, is friendly with every1, and honestly has done nothing to me personally....so why wouldnt i like him.

that being said, my vote for him has NOTHING to do with our relationship. is it really a surprise that the "dark lord" (name coming from dark lord of the sith from star wars), who everyone knows loves star wars.....votes for a person who selected yoda to his team?!

im not a religious person, so the fact people are voting for God and edgar is pushing the God vote, is a turn off for me.  to me God is just a mythical being.  so i mean it when i say yoda>god.  it may not be politically correct to say that, but both are ficticious characters to me, and me being a huge star wars geek.....yoda gets my vote.

i have voted for a few different categories in this thing, but this vote was the first time i announced my vote.  i have voted for 3 different people in 3 different categories, so my vote had nothing to do with popularity or my relationship with the contestant. i announced my vote for this one simply bc it is the best overall and last category.

like i said, i didnt have to justify my vote, but since the popularity contest thing was thrown out there, and i announced my vote for bahku in this category, i figured i would explain my stance.

this is just another reason why these type of games arent worth it.  even when it is completely silly and fun, theres drama.

Sigh...  Drama in the Ultimate Draft?

If it's a popularity contest, who cares?  This isn't supposed to be competitive; it's a silly little distraction put together by Redz.  Also, of the three leading vote-getters (myself being one of them), all three put significant time into marketing their team.  The only GM to go "all out" and not get a lot of votes was Redz (with respect to StartOrien, who hasn't spammed the thread quite as much).  Those advertisements pay off.

Also, I think just about every GM in this draft came up with a team worthy of "best overall".  It's completely subjective, but almost all of the teams are full of funny, unique characters that would rock if assembled.

I agree that I would like to see more people debating the merits of Captain Kirk vs. Yoda, God vs. Zeus, etc.  However, in a competition where, realistically, there could be a 12 way tie for first, I can't really blame people using popularity as a tie-breaker.

(That said, James Bond would totally kick Andy Kauffman's butt.  I'm pretty curious about the Hobbs vs. Hobbes matchup, though.  I give the edge to Hobbs.)

Ya, in all seriousness, I don't think there should be any hurt feelings. The three top teams are relatively similar in the way that they're constructed, obviously a lot of people share that sense of humor. It's not really a knock against the other teams.

And I'd say that if I wasn't involved in the draft, I'd take a look at the teams, find the team with the most obscure players, pick them and never take a look at the thread again.

When you've got a draft involving God, Yoda, and Leprechaun from Leprechaun in the hood, I think it's pretty hard for a voter to take a step back and evalutte things seriously. And to be fair to them, I wouldn't want them to.

All I meant is that it's coming down to the three most popular guys on the blog getting the votes. The three teams are all good and given that this is just for fun it really is coming down to who is the most popular owner because the teams all all subjective and, honestly, a silly concoction of people and characters.

So if they are all good and different and there's no real way to judge them, it basically comes down to who you like best. I mean come on, isn;t that fairly apparent?

Granted, Andy is a bit diminutive compared to 007, but Hobbes has got claws, big teeth, and those confusing stripes ... I think he'd pull at least a draw.

True...  but if Hobbs can beat up Chuck Norris and Bill Brasky, he'd probably hold his own against a tiger, right?  Or a whole army of tigers.

Zeus vs. Yoda...  that one might be epic.

It's a tight one folks

Poll will close tomorrow morning

Clearly, the decision to extend the vote is an anti-mod conspiracy, designed to sabotage my team's lead. ;)

the biggest miss in this draft was that no one drafted bruce lee.  butt kicker, created his own martial art, philosopher, and overall real life physical freak of nature......and oh yea, he whooped on chuck norris in way of the dragon :)

No doubt.  There are lots of guys I would have liked to squeeze onto my team, among them John Wayne, Jack Bauer, Darth Vader (yep, he was strongly considered, but didn't fit the "theme"), and, indeed, Bruce Lee.
