Probably Miami ... definitely Miami if they play a running game.

What do you mean probably?  How as a Celtics fan could you root for the Lakers.  It makes me feel just sick talking about it.

Normally yes, I would agree. However, If you lived in Miami, as I do, you would see what a truly obnoxious & bandwagon "fan-base" the Heat have. If I lived anywhere else I would see "Go Heat", but what's going on here is sickening!

Ha, wow you all will hate me, but I voted Lakers.

I'm 26, so didn't become a basketball fan until after the real Celtics/Lakers rivalry.  As a basketball fan, I've always admired Kobe's abilities and competitive drive.

Lebron James disgusts me.  I can't root for him ever.  I do like Wade, don't mind Bosh.  But Lebron might ruin it the whole team for me.

How can you vote for the Lakers after what just happened this past Finals?

I cant root for Lebron.  I borderline despise him, which is a strong word considering I've never met the man.  I don't want him to win any rings ever.  At this point, I'm not even sure I'd want him in Boston because I just dislike who he is so much.  And no, I would not have said that about 'Sheed nor Marbury before we got them.  There is no player I can ever remember I had such feelings about except Lebron.  If we were to make a trade to get Lebron, I'd honestly have mixed feelings about it.  I know it would make us an unbelievable team, but I would feel obliged to root for the man and I can't stand him.

This is a moot point....I think the Celtics are going to be in the Finals again.

Look, I hate the Lakers just as much as any Bostonian, but I at least have respect for them as our rival and for Kobe for winning 5 titles, and the last two being the lead dog on that team. What LeBron has done is disgusting by dissing his hometown of Cleveland and making this whole decision thing a complete joke. He is now a glorified sidekick to Wade in Miami, because let's be honest here...that is Wade's team, Wade's town, and Wade's 06 championship banner hanging in the rafters at American Airlines arena. Let's just call Lebron the new Pippen. Lebron Pippen.

If these two teams meet in the Finals next year I will not even watch. I hate the Lakers and will never root for them, but I cannot root for this unholy Miami superteam. I say to hell with them both. GO CELTICS

This is where I'm at too.  For me, rooting for LA in any series, much less the Finals would and could never happen.  But honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Artest manhandle Lebackle in their christmas day matchup, hand them a reg season loss.  Is that wrong?

  • Another undersized Celtic...
As much as its in my human fabric to hate the Lakers, I at least respect them.  This Heat team just disgusts me on all levels, and I'm feeling torn on this one.  Whatcha all think?
Celtics...

A Cat VIII Hurricane to inundate Miami and 12.0 Richter Scale Earthquake to throw Los Angelos into the Ocean.

Well 2012 is only two years away ;)

I'd turn the tv off because I would know its a dream.

Heat won't ever get past the Celtics.  Not with King James, shoot, not with Jesse James.  Celtics are still a better team than the Heat.

Not even close. I don't have any animosity against the Heat.

I can understand people who live in Miami picking the Heat, but it seems a bit shallow considering if the Lakers win one more, they tie us as a franchise.

Easily the Heat.

The Lakers are breathing down our backs when it comes to title count.

I was getting brainwashed by the mainstream New York media last night until I eventually stepped back, tried to put it into context, gained some perception... and now I fully support LeBron.  The guy decided money, fame and ego weren't that important.  He didn't want to be the "King of New York".  He didn't want the pressure of saving some loser city in Cleveland who acted like the burdon was on him.  The heck with that.  I would have bailed on them too.  Instead... he decided he'd rather just go move to a beach town and play with his buddies.   I respect that.   Good for him.  He wants to share the spotlight and play some sick basketball.  That team is going to be a joy to watch.  I'll be rooting for them in the Finals vs the Lakers.

TP  I agree with this (he'll be rich regardless) but I respect his decision.  Outside of the whole tv special angle, doing this is actually a humbling thing.  As far as the poll no brainer.
D-Wade is my favorite player, Kobe is near my least.  Plus there's the added entertainment value of if Shaq (a true
ego-maniac) goes to that team telling Kobe how his azz taste when they beat the Lakers. Think Boston is going to the Finals but I'd easily root for the Heat over the Lakers no brainer

Haven't read any other entries either but I will assume this is regular season talk because I like our chances in a 7 game series. Anyways THE HEAT!!!!! No Celtics fan in my opinion will ever have an excuse to cheer for LA....

Unless seeding is on the line or some circumstance like that where if the Lakers win it benefits us.

Otherwise always cheer against LA!

BEAT LA!!!

The Heat without a doubt. They actually built their team with capspace and forward thinking: the Lakers were gifted Kobe in the draft and were gifted Gasol with a shady trade.

You gotta root for the Heat. That said, I don't think the Heat will make it there in 2010-2011.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Coming from the opposite perspective, the one of the first things that popped into my head after hearing about LeBron in Miami was "I hope the salty dogs in Boston take these guys behind the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.in' woodshed next year".

I understand that it's a different situation for you guys since a Lakers/Miami matchup in the playoffs would be for the title, but I'd definitely be pulling for the Celtics in a propspective ECF.

I hate the Celtics with the passion of a thousand burning suns, but I respect the hell out of them. I have no respect for LeBron.
