I wouldn't follow such a finals, but I'd root for the heat.

Why?

The heat is and will always be an irrelevant franchise. They might win the next 5 titles straight, but as soon as they stop winning people will stop talking about them and their "fans" will disappear.

With the lakers, it's about history. And love it or hate it, there will always be lakers fans around.

Not even a debate, Lakers.  I grew up during the Magic Bird era and while it was competitive the rivalry was friendly... atleast it was in my 8 year old view.

In short I didn't grow up hating the Lakers, in fact Magic was one of my favorite players.

I am not a Kobe fan but I respect his dominance and I find him a far more deserving champion than LBJ... there was a time when he was arrogant and thought he ruled the world, I think the losing years after Shaq left/ran out of town Kobe grew up and learned a thing or two.

If the Celtics don't take it, I would love to watch any team humiliate the Lakers.  Watching that 2004 team go down in flames to the Pistons was awesome.

I'm assuming that he's talking about regular season games, as they're hardly a lock to meet in the finals...

They will be the favorites by the start of the season, and, IMO, by the start of the playoffs.

Not if they don't fill out they're roster well.  If they don't they'll be good, but they won't be the best team.

Heat, I will never ever cheer for the Lakers.  Well thats not entirely true, I will cheer for the Lakers to win the west so the Celtics can kick their **** in the championship.

Not a doubt in my mind they'll have an excellent team by opening night. Miller's a terrific piece and I'm assuming nobody is doubting Pat Riley at this point. They shouldn't. This has been a masterstroke so far. Four terrific signings and counting.

Heat, without a doubt.  You could take the entire Laker roster and trade them to the Clippers and I'd probably love them.  It's a mortal sin for a Celtic fan to root for the Lakers.  How can this even be a question on Celticsblog?!

The one good thing about the Heat becoming a potential dynasty is that it will keep the Lakers from becoming one.

Regular season heat but if it was the finals The Heat! LA is one championship away from a tie with us all time.  That being said I hope the heat don't make it to the finals, I'd prefer we do.

Lakers.

You should just take the celtics out of your username right now and leave.  The Lakers are one championship behind us.

Do the people that want the Lakers to win really want them to tie us in championships and be the best franchise ever?

You are NOT a Celtics fan if you ever want the Lakers to win!

Yeah if he plays more than 57 games another stoke of genius.  That Pat Riley can really scout talent.  How  did this guy know that signing Bosh and LJ to go with Wade would be such a good idea.  It's like he's playing Chess and all the other GMs are playing Checkers or it's like he's fillet mignon and all the other GMs are Chopped Steak.  Got to give him his props..

I'll be rooting for an Earthquake if that series ever takes place.  With LA involved I got a good shot.  The whole state goes under. : )
