Eddie's a backup plan if Nate costs too much to keep around.

I'm hoping that they can keep NateRob around fairly cheaply.  Not a distributor, but that's less of an issue for the backup, since he's usually not going to be playing with the team's best finishers.  Love how he was playing D in the playoffs; if TA really IS coming back, he and NateRob can potentially just destroy other teams' second-unit backcourts.  Doesn't shy away from the big moments.

NateRob's more likely to win us a couple big games than a "safer" backup like Earl Watson.

Eddie House, unnecessary if Nate returns, but does force the D to cover him and i think often got a bad rap.  I'd be surprised if he DOESN'T land in Miami, though; he'll be cheap, he's played for a lot of teams but for quite some time has been pretty selective about only signing with pretty good teams.  He's played in Miami before (although, where HASN'T he played?).  Would do a great job at keeping the defense honest, and his weaknesses as a ballhandler are rendered almost completely moot if he's playing alongside Dwayne Wade and LeBron James (both of whom often are de-facto point guards).

Hell, Eddie House could probably be the starting point guard on that team.  He's just got to get the ball up past halfcourt, get it in the hands of DeBron, and fade to the corner.

I am past Eddie. Nate showed he could do the exact same thing if not better and is a better passer then Eddie.

nate can set the single season record for 3P FG % -- albeit on a team that desparately needs it (in case you din't notice how often the Cs succeed when ray's shot isn't falling)?

Mike Miller?  He's signing with the Heat.

What's the point? Already have Rondo, Bradley and TA to cover the point guard position.

Danny is interested in bringing back Nate Robinson too.

The C's don't need a fifth point guard (E.House) on their roster.

TA is a SG.  Bradley is 19.  And who knows what the deal is with Nate.

I'd love to bring in Eddie.  Worst case, he's our 12th man, a great locker room guy, and the perfect cheerleader.

I have to agree. If the premise of this is him signing for the minimum, it's a slam dunk.

It doesn't replace the need for a wing who can shoot and defend. I'd offer Sheed's deal for Francisco Garcia and a 2011 2nd Round Pick from SAC.

An old three-point shooter who is a liability on defense?  I guess the next rumor will be that Ainge is talking to Michael Finley.

Nate shot .400 during his stint with the Celtics last year, so I am pretty sure he's quite able to, given the right circumstances and a little bit of luck.

if he takes the minimum, why not?  can always use shooting

I just find it hard to believe he'd accept the min when teams can use a shooter like him

We need more height and rebounding more than another guard.

negative. this team needs shooting, particularly if TA resigns.

I would prefer a shooting wing rather than an extra guard.

I love eddie and appreciate all he did for us.  We need to sign TA (for defense on wade, and look hard at Battier (sheeds contract ?) our needs aren't and undersized sg with not the best foot speed.

And this is exactly the kind of player Miami needs to shore up its roster. We can be in denial all we want, but when all is said and done, the Heat are going to be an absolute powerhouse.

I'd call Battier and Jermaine and pretty decent off-season.

Not sold on bringing Eddie back, I'd rather just resign Nate.

You know who would be better to bring back if he could play the celtic defense is billy walker.  A sf that could come in and play hard, run the floor that would be better imo and he could come cheap.  He's probably going to be a player for the knicks this year since they fizzled out in the fa signings.
