Childress or Williams probably are the best remaining options for Sheed's contract.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd love Childress.  I really like him.  He seems to have a knack for getting all the way to the rim for easy scores.  His defense is nice too.

I'd much rather have Marvin Williams than Childress.  IMO Williams in the right situation on this Celtics team could really thrive.  I just don't know about Childress after his years overseas, but he could work out too.

I'd rather have Williams though.

I dont think Atlanta is going to be willing to make a trade to help Boston, a conference rival.

They could just trade with Sacramento, Phoenix or the Clippers.

Our rivals are not going to help us.

The Hawks would likely agree to a sign and trade for Sheed's contract + a future draft pick.

Atlanta has luxury tax concerns so they are unlikely to be able to re-sign Childress themselves. Plus, they have very little negotiating power as result because nobody believes they'll match the offer sheet. So, a sign and trade to someone who doesn't have their MLE is a perfect scenario for Atlanta so long as they get something out of it (future draft pick).

I have no interest in Childress at this point in time though. I want to see if his game has improved over in Europe before committing $33 million over five years to him. I doubt it has improved enough to be worth that amount.

No interest whatsoever?  While I'm not the biggest Childress guy, I still believe he's a very good player who could bring something similar to what Grant Hill is bringing Phoenix with a bit better defense and more speed in transition.

I don't think Childress is much of a risk at all at the full MLE, he's just not a home run.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I don't like Marvin as much.  I think Childress has a better grasp of the game.

When Childress left the NBA he was a below average defender who couldn't shoot the ball and couldn't create his own shot. He was a garbage man small forward.

I have no interest in a player with those characteristics. Not for the MLE.
