Anyone remember if Sheed had a trade kicker? Wouldn't that mean we could trade him for more?

He does have a trade Kicker

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm based on questions 86 and 87, his trade bonus will count as part of his salary, so if he has a max trade kicker (15% of the remaining value of the contract, excluding option years), then his cap number would be:

$6,322,320 * 1.15 (add in the trade kicker) = $7,270,668.00

So he could be traded for $7,270,668.00 * 1.25 + $100,000 = $9,188,335.00 in salary. This opens up a few more options actually.

Now Cs could obtain players like Diaw, Biedrins, Hinrich in a straight up trade (for examples).

Ooh...I like Hinrich, but I suspect the Wiz want him around to mentor Wall?  He'd be a great weapon at backup combo guard if Wyc would be willing to pay his salary.  With the way Miami will look, I'd go all-in to win the next two titles.

I don't know if G.S. would go for this, but if they are letting morrow walk for nothing for a 3 yr 12 million dollar deal, would they take SHeed, Baby, Gaffney, Lafayette for Biedrins and Morrow at the same price?

For G.S. they would get a free biedrins/baby swap and the savings for a guy they were going to let walk anyway.

C's get a size/rebounding/defensive upgrade at a much larger contract and pick up a sharpshooting wing.

The 12M/3yr offer sheet on Morrow provides some interesting options for a s&t, although definitely a limited time opportunity.  

Sheed for Morrow and Wright addresses two needs.  An athletic PF and a deadly outside shooter to provide more rest for our aging Big Three.  GS has been down on Wright and with the additions of Lee and Udoh he is even more expendable.  Word is that they are unlikely to match on Morrow.  Frees them from another $3.3M in salary and the cap is not a concern so some cash for a buyout if needed would probably work.

I'm actually good with Sheed + BB + s&t Nate for s&t Morrow, Wright, and Biedrins also.  I think Nate would fit perfectly in Nellie's run-n-gun offense and I like the fact that Biedrins brings a very different skill set from our other Celtics centers.  Biedrins' contract is a bit long but that's Danny's call.

If there is a way to include Watson in a deal, I wonder if he might be flipped to Indiana for Brandon Rush and Josh McRoberts.  Gives Larry his starting point guard for players buried on the depth chart and gets back some athletic subs with upside for the 2/3 and 4 positions.

That's a steep price to pay for a guy who looks like his body might be breaking down.  Great player though.

Up until last year, if I'm not mistaken, the guy has been an iron man. I'd definitely take the risk. I think he'd be a James Posey times two. I like his ability to guard LeBron and Kobe and hit the open three with nice efficiency. Plus we all know he has been in a lot of big games.

Morrow signed the offer sheet so if Golden State doesn't match the offer he belongs to New Jersey. If they do match the offer he belongs to Golden State and they can not trade him for one year. Those are the only two possibilities with Morrow once he signed the offer sheet. He is off the market as far as everyone but NJ and GS are concerned.

Baby has become a great bench player for us. But, if we could get Prince, I'd definitely sacrifice him. For the minimum, there are some options at power forward: Craig Smith, Stromile Swift, Josh Powell, Ike Diogu, etc. Obviously these guys aren't Big Baby Davis, but if we could land Prince, I think the downgrade at power forward would be worth it, especially since it seems more and more important that we will need bodies for LeBron and Wade.

That's all predicated upon them wanting to keep Morrow and if they do all they have to do is match and their salary goes up just $4 million. If they were okay with signing Lee long term just before the sale of the team, I don't see where a $4 million increase in payroll is going to be a problem.

Thing is though, maybe they don't want to keep Morrow. Maybe they figure they are okay with Ellis, Curry, Bell Watson and this kid Reggie Williams, who they seem to be high on.
