I wonder if Marvin Williams is actually in play in a cost dump by Atlanta.  I think that has been discussed.  If that is real, I would try to get that done.  He seems like a awfully good player to just dump though.

I still like the though of getting Beasley but not if it helps the get Lebron.

Or another S&T with ATL: Sheed + Pick + Cash for Josh Childress.

I would prefer Josh Howard to Childress. We need a wing that can shoot the basketball. Childress is a worse shooter than TA.

I have heard the Hawks like Childress and his toughness and D, that could give them cause to do a deal to dump Williams salary, since they are both SF's.

I am hoping that DA can get this deal done.

Ellis is an awful fit for this team. He's a bad defender, a low efficiency scorer and tremendously undersized as a 2 guard. I would never consider giving up Baby and all that value cap space for Ellis.

Well, that cap space has NO value for us if we can't trade Sheed for something. I don't like giving baby for just Ellis; if the NYK deal falls through, though, I'd do the Sheed/Baby package for Ellis+Randolph.

Or what about Perk+Sheed for Ellis+Wright? Our rotation would then be:

JO/Baby/Kwame
KG/Wright
Pierce/TA
Ray/Ellis
Rondo/Ellis.

Regardless, if it's true that G.S. is really trying to dump Kelene, Turiaf, AND Randolph for the right to give Lee 13 million per year from an already cash-strapped team, i'd be talking to them every day trying to work a deal to take give them Sheed, Baby, and Perk for Biedrins plus two of Kelena/wright/randolph/morrow in some combination. G.S. could potentially save enough in such a deal to dump Biedrins' contract in addition to Turiaf's, give away the same prospects, get more short term pieces (baby and Perk) and still have 9-10 million for free agency this year.

For example:
Sheed, gaffney, Lafayette, Perk, Baby, for Biedrins, Turiaf, Kelene, Randolph would leave G.S. with

Curry/Charlie Bell
Ellis/Reggie Willaims
Ekpe/Vlad Rad
Wright/Baby
Perk/Gadzuric

-Which means only ONE contract guaranteed beyond this year; mega flexibility.
-plus 10 million in pure usable cap space if they renounce watson and morrow.

Boston's lineup in this dream scenario would be

Rondo/Bradley
Ray/TA
Pierce/Azubuike
KG/Randolph
Biedrins/JO/Turiaf

Childress is an UGLIER shooter than TA. But his FG has been:
.470, .552, .504, .571
and his 3pt% has been
.232, .492, .338, .367.

Career: .522/.360/.799

Not Outstanding deep shooting, but not terrible.

Anyone remember if Sheed had a trade kicker? Wouldn't that mean we could trade him for more?

Rasheed and a first rounder to Washington for Mike Miller in a sign and trade.

Rasheed and a first rounder to Atlanta for Marvin Williams.

Rasheed and a 2nd round pick to Houston for Shane Battier.

Rasheed and a signed and traded Nate Robinson to Sacramento for Francisco Garcia and Jason Thompson

Amen -- we've talked about each of these in various threads and each would make some sense (tho good luck with that SAC trade! ...but I'd be open to Garcia).
I would love to have Thompson backing up KG!!! Could we sweeten that deal by adding BBD instead of Nate?

Here is the Perfect Sheed BBD trade for us!!!
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2b4oear

Boston Trades:

Sheed
BBD

Sacramento Trades:

F. Garcia
J. Thompson

We would probably need to throw in a pick!

I put Battier in there because Houston is kind of stacked at the wing position as it ius with Kevin Martin, Trevor Ariza and Chase Budinger(who they are very high on). Houston is rumored to be doing all sorts of stuff to add a back up center behind Yao but if they strike out, they might think about moving Battier's contract for some cap space and a pick.

This might seem nuts but a team that could be looking for all sorts of cap space before the end of the night could be Cleveland. If Lebron leaves the Cavs why not explore sending Wallace to Cleveland for Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon?

Don't like Parker or Moon.  Love Battier though.

Why give up BBD? Sactown is disappointed with Thompson and now with Landry, Cousins, Greene, Brockman and Dalambert they really have no need for more big men. They have a need for a backup PG and have been rumored to be interested in Nate.

Sign and trade Nate with Sheed and keep Davis who continues to show that he is a big game type player and very valuable to this team coming off the bench backing up both the 4 and 5.

great trade
gs gets good cheap parts and financial relief

we get good young players AND DEPTH at 3 positions.

if the trade went down I'd be prayin that the tutelage of the big 3 and rr running the show would keep us from warriors east
