Why would S.A. do this? It doesn't help them in any way...

Because RJ was a big mistake/ terrible fit for them and they can get out from under his contract and instantly look for his replacement with Sheeds contract.

I think Sheed's contract would be best served moving to Golden State. We could take a contract like Turiaf off their hands if they throw in Morrow.
Or we could do Sheed and Gaffney for Biedrins.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Pretty sure RJ opted out of his contract.

Sheed and something else for Mike Dunleavy Jr.  He can play the SF behind Pierce, brings shooting and basketball IQ to the bench.  Also he only has one year left on contract so we do not have to worry about long term contract.

I'd like the Sheed for Turiaf/Morrow deal.  But PLEASE, don't bring us Biedrins.  He's injury prone, not a very good defender and he makes Rondo look like Ray at the line.

However, he is a good rebounder a decent finisher and runs the floor like a gazelle. He would get a lot of easy buckets on passes from Rondo.
As far as defense goes defense isn't really taught in Golden State. Everyone who leaves there instantly becomes a better defender. He certainly has the size and length to blitz the pick and roll like our defense requires.

I'd prefer somebody who doesn't avoid contact in the middle to keep from having to shoot free throws.  Also, with Perk out, KG becoming brittle with age and JO climbing aboard, I'd like to bring in somebody durable.  As it is, a healthy sneeze from somebody in the stands could turn BBD and Harangody into starters.  That would be a disaster.

Really?  It's probably going to be lauded as the single dumbest move of the off-season.

Sheed's deal is only 6.3mil -- don't think we're going to be getting biedrins with others from GSW.

A number of posters are ruling out FAs, but shouldn't -- they can be s&t'd, and for MORE than the MLE which is relevant when considering competitors.

Examples:

Mike Miller
Josh Howard
Richard Jefferson (no chance, really)
Josh Childress
Anthony Morrow
Rasual Butler and / or other Clippers
Mike

(My name is not Mike)
