I'd gladly take Kwame, I think he's the perfect Perk replacement for the sole fact that I believe he is one of the top 5 post defenders in the league. as unable as he's always been grabbing rebounds, making layups, or running the floor, He HAS always been a more than solid post defender.

I'm sure most would disagree but I'd give part of the MLE for Kwame.

As a Laker fan and with a longtime disliking for the C's, even I don't wish to see you guys have anything to do with Kwame. The guy can't hold on to a ball to save his life. He must grease his palms with margarine before each game. Good luck.

For the vet minimum this would be a solid signing.

Something he and Sheldon have in common.

If we're thinking Kwame, bring back Olowankandi

What about Sweetney? I remember some fans liking him last year during the SL.

No thanks.

He's better than Shelden imo, especially defensively.  That's probably what Danny is thinking about, his defense.  He sure has bad hands though.

I don't think it gets much more desperate than Kwame Brown.

as long as the contract is structured correctly - this would be an all upside zero risk move for Boston.

A desperate move is trading three first round picks for Andris Biedrins (hypothetically).  This would be a cost free acquisition - at that point it's a smart upside play.

For low money, why not? Seriously, we have Clifford Ray and KG to steer him in the right direction and make him focus on a couple key things to do defensively.

Low expectations, low money, some upside. It should be painfully obvious that we need 7+ footers for times like the 2010 Finals. No matter how much you like or dislike certain players, we MUST bring in some from the 7+ ft crew. Therefore, Sweetney, Sheldon and anyone in the shorter than 7+ ft category is out of the conversation.

It's all about getting some guys to protect the rim and match up with other bigs. Kwame could certainly handle some of those chores if he put his mind to it and was given proper direction.

BTW, how much cap space does Houston have?

From what I can tell (from looking at both hoopshype and shamsports), none.  I don't get why they are in such a better position to bring in Brad Miller than are the Cs....

At the vet min I don't mind him. Tall. Solid post defender. And his hands cannot possibly be stonier than Sheldon's.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.
