Trust me, I have lived here for the last year and it still puzzles me that New Yorkers (still can't think of myself as one) are shocked that not everyone wants to live here.

IMHO, the best thing NY could do if it fails to nab a quality FA is preserve its cap space.  It will be really valuable later in the season and could be used to trade for a FA.

I have been living in New York City for more than 10 years.  Many New Yorkers will tell you that it is a love-hate relationship.

But I would have to agree that the sports teams here are overhyped to the point of being truly annoying.  I actually cheer whenever they lose.

Yes, the Knicks should save the cap room.  But who cares since doing something stupid with the space would eliminate one of our divisional rivals?

In my opinion Rudy Gay is extremely overrated. Probably the worst team-player I have ever watched. A couple of years ago he was several games in a row without a single assist. Just shooting and shooting all over again.

I dont thin Memphis will do any good building their team around him and he cannt be a complementary player

Now the Grizz need a legit PG to run this offense and divvy the shots. The team has 4 guys in it's starting line up who can put 20 on the board on a given night. The D will come, they're all still young, but they need someone to co-ordinate their offense.

Rudy Gay is not worth 16 million per year.

At that rate he should be an all star. I am really not in favor of giving all star money to non all stars.

At that rate, I'm glad he's not a Celtic. If he were paid 10-12 million annually, sure, bring him aboard.
