I know about his three-point prowess, but how's his defense?  His build looks like he could be a great one-on-one defender, but you can't really tell much from Golden State who avoids defense like the plague.

Morrow is probably the best shooter in the NBA, right now. Way better than Ray. But he has three major flaws in his game.

1) He has no handles.
2) very weak defender
3) Doesn't take the ball to the hoop

two of those flaws can be fixed. But I don't know if he can ever fix his handles. Some players are simply uncomfortable with the ball in their hands. And he also needs to work on his one-on-one game. But if he is making 2-3 three pointer & trying on D, I think Celtics can work on the rest of his game.

Thats why Morrow would be such a great fit with the C's, He just has to run off screens catch and shoot, and he would have the best teacher in the world to show him ho to get open shots. This kid is a deadly shooter and would be a perfect fit with Rondo and Perk going forward .

I would say all 3 can be fixed. Sometimes people can't get to the hoop because they are not good at dribbling. I know his defense would improve because everyone who leaves golden state plays better defense.

Nice to hear that we're after him. I think it will be tough to get him because there are a lot of suitors and he is a restricted free agent but... it's worth trying. The Sheed's retired contract for Morrow and Turiaf makes a lot of sense but it sounds like a pipe dream... but who knows? The Warriors have done craziest (and dumber) trades before.

Frankly I like Turiaf as a good big body WHICH THIS TEAM DESPERATELY NEEDS, but not at all sure about Morrow.

We don't know how good of a defender he is since he was never asked to play it in GS. Just like Nate in NY. Maybe Ainge believes he can be a good defender

We don't know how good of a defender he is since he was never asked to play it in GS. Just like Nate in NY. Maybe Ainge believes he can be a good defender

Playing in GS also means we don't know how good of an offensive player he really is since Nellie ball inflates that.

Taller is key though ... and if he is Eddie House, could do a lot worse.

The defending part is less of a concern.  Remember RayRay was a HORRENDOUS defender before coming to Boston.  The Seattle team he left put up some of the worst defensive metrics in NBA history.  The Celtics have such a defense-crazy culture that a guy like Morrow - if he cares, which of course varies by guy - will learn to be at least a high-effort low mistake defender. (the type of defender you can ask any player to be regardless of talent)

Hmmmmm, a S&T of Morrow + Turiaf for Sheed's contract?
(Cs get Morrow, who they want, and Turiaf to backup Perk; GSW gets rid of Turiaf's contract, so they don't "lose Morrow for nothing")  

You read my mind. But Morrow is likely worth more than this when you consider the amount Turiaf makes. Could just s&t Morrow for Sheed and a 2nd round pick and / or cash. Or maybe Morrow & Wright for Sheed and a 1st?

Yeah, Morrow would need to take a deal starting at $4M per year.  Its likely that another team would beat that.
