Well, todays paper said that okc has too many centers competeing for too few positions.....what a deal..So, how do we make that work..giving up Ray Allen is not the way. That is our outside game, and we haven't fixed that either. Ray is good, but needs someone to cut his minutes, and be productive......But our inside game needs help too..KG, a perk type, and a rebounder/scoring type. Or at least a young 6'10" guy with energy and desire...!
Collison or Krstic both have attractive contracts and could help the Celtics. Thing is, we have nothing to offer the Thunder.
I'm not so sure about that. Do we have a lot to offer - no, but we might have a player or two that they'd like.
The one player that comes to mind immediately as an attractive option for OKC is Tony Allen. Someone posted that three Western Conference contenders are interested in his services, and while the Thunder may not yet be a contender, they are coming on strong. LA got Artest to handle guys like Durant, Pierce, Melo, LeBron, etc, so why wouldn't OKC acquire a player in Tony Allen who would serve the same purpose? Granted I don't like Tony, but his defense on Kobe, Wade, LeBron was excellent, if not exceptional. The tricky part is getting what we want, and need, from the Thunder in return for TA. Ideally, this would be the future 1st round pick acquired from the Clippers in a deal for Eric Bledsoe, as well as Morris Peterson - good shooter, has been a good defender in the past, can spell both Ray and Paul, etc. Now I'm quite sure that OKC won't part with the Clipper's pick, but why not ask about it (at least you've explored the option)? I mean, if we could get that pick and Mo Pete for Tony, Baby and Perk, that would be an absolute steal for us. Perk's history against Gasol might be too tempting for a young team like the Thunder to pass up - even with his injury. Plus, both he and Baby's contracts expire after next year, meaning they could save even more money. None of this will happen, but it's just a thought.
