Celtics basically get little scoring from their front-line. KG is on the down hill of his career, and Perk is a defender not a scorer. All the scoring has to come from Pierce, Ray, and Rondo. That's not a formula for success. Since the consensus is that Bosh is leaving. How about a S&T with the Celtics? Celtics got assets big-man (Perk & Big Baby), Sheed retiring, S&T Nate or Daniels, Future picks. Ainge has to at least ponder this. Bosh & Rondo can be the cornerstone of this franchise for a longtime.

Why not?  Well, because if the Raptors are going to S+T him, they can get much better offers than anything the Celtics can give them, unless the C's want to give up Rondo (which would be a lateral move at best).

For example, the Rockets can offer Luis Scola + Jordan Hill + draft picks.  Much better than anything the C's could give them.

ditto.
We just don't have the pieces for a move like that.

PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

So? Toronto could lose him for nothing if he decides to sign elsewhere. Bosh might want to come to the Celtics. Toronto gets assets in return & Bosh goes to a franchise where he contends right away. Either that or he can simply go & Toronto gets nothing in return. Celtics get a player they covet. And Toronto improves immensely defensively which is there weak spot & get picks for the future. Bosh wins. Celtics wins. Toronto wins.

Yet, in numerous other scenarios, Bosh and Toronto could still win but to a greater degree.

Where would Bosh rather go?  To the Celtics, where his supporting cast would consist of an old KG, Pierce, and Rondo, or to Miami or Chicago where he could play with D-Wade or Derrick Rose and possibly LeBron?

I've already explained that other teams can offer significantly more than the Celtics can in a sign and trade, so it makes no sense for the Raptors unless Bosh is dead set on coming to Boston.  As I just explained, I don't see why that would be the case.

Bosh pretty much said on Mike and Mike yesterday that he is going to whereever Lebron goes.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

That's a horrible misquote and paraphrase. Do you work in media? ;D

The problem with Boston making a play for Bosh is Perk's injury. Bryan Colangelo is not in a position where he can afford another bad season, or bad first half in Toronto next year. He's not about to trade the face of the Raptors franchise for a guy heading into major surgery and Glen Davis. If Perk was healthy and Boston offered Baby, Perk, and a future #1 (or maybe Bradley in there somewhere) then they might have a shot. But with Perk out, it's a no go, IMO.

Even then, other teams could do better.

Knicks S+T David Lee + Danilo Gallinari for Bosh + Hedo, for example.

Throwing in Bradley might give the Celtics the edge on that one, but I doubt it.

Why would he want to go to the Knicks and that depleted roster, though? The player has to want to go there. Rockets have the best sign and trade assets to acquire a guy without hurting its team drastically, but Bosh allegedly has no desire to play back home in Texas.

I listened for much of the day and I really believe he wants to play with Lebron.  He didn't actually say it, but you could tell it was something he was thinking long and hard about.  Bosh wants to win and playing with Lebron is the best way for that to happen.  He may not end up with Lebron, but he wants to play with him.  Just the feel I got from Bosh during that 4 hours.

Fair enough. The point stands though - other teams have way more to offer.

Bosh is laboring under the misconception that he can be THE man on a title team. Or maybe he's coming around to realizing he can't. Anyway, I get why he'd like to play with Lebron but I think Bosh puts a lot of weight on 1) getting a max deal 2) being in a big cosmopolitan city like Toronto (or, say... New York?). Going to a city like Cleveland to play with a massive ego like LBJ - I'm not sure I see it....

If I had to bet, I'd say Miami, New York, Chicago and then Cleveland.

I agree except LeBron won't be in Cleveland next season.  Unless he doesn't care about winning a championship.

In no way shape or form I see Bosh and Lebron coming to the Celtics.

Pierce and Allen to Cleveland for Lebron???
KG and Perk to Toronto for Bosh????

Both are complete pipe dreams for us and complete nightmares for the two GMs. Terrible trades for them.

We could win the NBA title even with Brad Miller as our Center with Bosh, Lebron, and Rondo.

Yeah Danny make it happen.
