Considering the short shelf life of many of these rumors - it may make sense to have a catchall thread?

To start: Seems that David Aldridge is reporting on NBA TV that the Warriors have a trade offer on the table from the Nuggets to move Andris Biedrins and Dan Gadzuric for Kenyon Martin. (Jonathan Givony is also reporting it.) Such a deal couldn't take place until August 22nd. The fire sale continues?

This and the 24 hours encompassing Christmas Eve evening up until the evening of Christmas Day are my favorite times of the whole year.

Jonathan Givony reports Boston is only asking for a future 1st for the 19th pick.

Quote
NBA teams (NYK, Dal, Cle, Was, Tor) looking to get into the first should talk to Boston. Price is a future first rounder. Pretty reasonable.

Possibly because Ainge feels he doesn't have the chips to trade up for a lottery bust, so will instead turn his attention to signing another team's via free agency (i.e. Shelden Williams, Patrick O'Bryant, Robert Swift).

Givony (give some credit to the man for working late) also tells us:

Memphis probably ends up selling either 25 or 28 when it's all said and done. Waiting for last minute likely increases the quality of offers.

Also three rumors from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski that I'm a little late on, but haven't seen elsewhere here.

Quote
The New Orleans Hornets’ front office hadn’t wanted to trade its No. 11 pick, but it appears the financial realities of the cash-strapped franchise are making it more likely the team will trade out of the lottery

Quote
Duke’s 7-foot-1 center Brian Zoubek has emerged as one of the top second-round prospects, and league executives believe he could be one of the New York Knicks’ back-to-back picks at Nos. 38 and 39.

Quote
No deal with Pacers, but Oklahoma City has been "relentless" trying to get into top 10. Why? Butler's Gordon Hayward, league source says.

The Heat are negotiating a buyout of James Jones' contract to further increase their cap space, according to Chris Sheridan of ESPN.

Quote
Jones has $15.5 remaining on his contract through 2012-13, but those final three seasons are only partially guaranteed if James is waived by June 30. Waiving Jones would knock another $2.8 million off the Heat's salary cap for the 2010-11 season, giving them roughly $27 million to spend in free agency after July 1.

Sheridan also reports that the Heat would like to trade Beasley for a player with only a partially guaranteed contract for the 2010-11 season, and have looked at two players in particular - Keyon Dooling of the New Jersey Nets and Ryan Gomes.

According to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald the Chicago Bulls have discussed sending Luol Deng to Orlando for Mickael Pietrus and Marcin Gortat.

Quote
It has been discussed, according to a source, but talks have not gotten serious and there is no proof the Bulls are inclined to make such a move. This deal would save the Bulls about $22 million in future salaries, but it wouldn’t give them any more cap space to add a second free agent this summer. In fact, it would erase about $300,000 in cap space.

I'd be discussing that deal too if I were the Bulls.

The problem is, if they are trying to get space for two max players, this doesn't help.  They want cap room, not role players.

I'll be pretty mad if Danny trades the 19 for a future draft pick.

Exactly. Although if Toronto is in fact willing to work out a sign and trade for Bosh, as has been rumored, then the Bulls would still have the cap space to sign James or Wade outright. Gortat and Pietrus could be moving parts with more modest contracts than Deng.
