Ben Wallace for sure, he doesnt have to score, he just have to defend and get rebounds, the Pistons were a big disappointment this year, they were loaded weren't they? In my opinion the Pistons shouldve been in the playoffs but apparently did not.

However, seeing how Ben Wallace play, im sure he still have something left in the tank. He can still rebound, VERY WELL. Dude he did win defensive player of the year you know.

B-Wallace is more done than Sheed was.  Definitely don't want to drag him through a full regular season.

The thing is, if we get two vet centers, we don't need B-Wallace to play big minutes.  And once Perk is back, we really don't.

While I don't think BBD will ever be a star or even a starter on a contender, I do think he's proven he's ready for 25-30 mpg off the bench.  That means he'll have to play both PF and C (or at least next to KG who will be center).  If that's the case, even with conservative minutes for Perk and KG, we only need the 4th big to play 10 mpg.  I think Wallace can handle that.

See, I think BBD should stay put around 20 minutes a game.  Give him any more than that and he'll start trying to do too much and probably get too tired.  He's perfect as an energy guy who plays solid backup minutes.  Not a guy I want playing starter minutes (25-30+).

How so?  He played 69 games for Detroit last season, averaged almost 9 boards a game in 28MPG.  Had 23 games with double-digit rebounds.  Perk had only 20 games with double-digit boards, playing almost the identical number of minutes (and nine more games).  8.7/game average for Big Ben versus 7.6 for Perk.

I'm not saying that Ben Wallace is a better player, or that you wouldn't rather baby him along a little bit, but the dude can still do the one thing he's always been great at.

I think I've talked myself into Darko, but if we spend the MLE on a wing and only have the vet minimum to work with, Big Ben might not be a bad fallback option.

Yup, Davis is no where near consistent enough to enter the 25+ MPG category. 18-20 is just fine.

Another name to think about that will not cost as much is Dampier.  He will likely be waived.
