I don't know how his teammates can stomach the hypocrisy to play with him.

Maybe that's why they have to (over)pay Odom like $9 mill a year.  Come to think of it, Sasha gets insane money too . . .

I love it.

Favorite part

Quote
Just how fragile are they as a team? Privately, the Celtics believed a Game 5 victory would have Bryant tearing into his teammates, thrusting them back into shells when they needed to be strong.

Celtics need to come out and punch the rest of these guys in the mouth defensively at the beginning of the game.

agreed - we do not need to allow them any hope or momentum - close it out in 6 while we have them questioning themselves. these Lakers came home and played very well after losing tough games on the road out west in these playoffs and Bryant's words may motivate these guys, just like Bird motivated the '84 Celtics by calling them out after game 3 that year.

so ........... we gotta match their initial intensity tuesday nite, weather it and punch back hard, so those doubts in their minds stay in place.

because i watched Larry Bird, went to his games in atlanta and even in boston , i lived thru his career and celebrated his titles, - and Kobe, you ain't no Larry Bird.

and the Lakers ain't the Celtics, bad as they might want to be.

The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

But Sasha needs that money to pay his hairdresser to maintain that fantastic hair of his.

Kobe the leader. ::)

Was it this year or last season that Kobe said he didn't have to do everything because they have others on the team that can play?  What happened to that team Kobe was talking about?
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

This is why Kobe is not on my Post Jordan starting 5:

Shaq (1999-2001 version), KG (2000-2008), Lebron (2008-2010 version), Ray Allen (pre-ankle injury), Billups (2004 version)

everyone on that team could get along and fit in perfectly. Gasol needs to get touches - his defense collapses when he doesn't.
I'd put Deron Willaims ahead of Billups.

LOL me and my friends last night were making fun of "Sasha PrettyEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline." Anybody that spends the pregame teasing their hair and running their fingers through their hair after a made basket doesn't have any business in the NBA.

Kobe has a right to be peeved.

He was making all those difficult shots and he's playing pretty good frontline defense only to see his teammates give up layups and give up big time plays!!

I would be very angry, frustrated, irritated by my teammates.

I mean come on, I am Kobe making all these shots because I see my teammates not able to make any baskets or getting blocked by Tony Allen, etc. & I am also playing defense and my mates are giving up layups?

Come on!

Kobe deserves to be mad at his fellow Lakers.

I guess he has the "right," but part of it is his fault, as I illustrated above...and even in your post, you basically point out that his being p---ed has NOTHING to do with TEAM and is all about INDIVIDUAL glory. So yeah, he has the "right," but is it doing anything to accomplish the greater goal of winning? I say no.

I've heard of first person and third person, but this is the first "Mark Jackson" person voice post I've ever read. Come on - your better than that!

LOL Mark Jackson is annoying. I really wish someone would give him a coaching job. Him and Eric Snow both.

Think about this: when Kobe was scoring his 23 straight, how pumped up were his teammates?

Now, picture Pierce (or any Celtic) scoring 23 straight. KG would be punching the floor, the bench would be doing backflips, guys would be hitting the floor and clearing out their man just to get him the ball.

Because Paul Pierce's teammates like him.

I honestly feel sorry for proud Lakers fans who are forced to like this guy. He just doesn't get it.

C'mon, Mark Jackson is awesome! Repeat after me....

"Outstanding job of getting it done and doin' work. Momma, there goes that man, doin' work and getting it done on both ends of the floor -- that's an outstanding job."

I find it interesting that Kobe shoots the ball 24 times per game. Pau only gets 12 shots. And then everyone else is under 8 per game.

14 assists per game as a team? Way to share the ball LA.

No wonder Kobe's team is shutting down as they watch him go into kobe-show mode.

Well you guys can look at it another way too:

When Kobe scores, the Lakers also score.

When the Lakers give up easy baskets and don't play D, isn't that the bigger problem than one guy scoring at will?

How did the Lakers not gain any ground when Kobe was scoring 23 straight points for the Lakers?

How did the Lakers lose ground, from 1 point to 13?

Their defense failed and I think that is what Kobe is more upset about than anything.
