The negativity on silver screen and roll is pretty amusing this morning. Celticinorlando and sexxyscotish made some funny posts the other day but both were quickly booted I think. They weren't even trolling either tho I did see some Celtic trolls. Good to see it goes both ways. But were not seeing many trolls here now are we shady lurkers....

So his teammates had a rough night and they lost and he feels justified in cursing them out because he scored 30 something points. When he's the one that turned the ball over in crunch-time the past two losses. Last night he disappeared AGAIN late in the 4th quarter. He may have kept them in the game but all I recall him doing down the stretch was complaining at someone every possession. Whatever.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

i love reading their posts. throwing players under the bus (like kobe), so much cursing and profanities, wishing deaths, blaming the refs when they have a huge ft advantage.  ::)

ahh its a good day  ;D

From Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo. For my money, he's one of the best NBA writers out there...

Kobe will never get it.  It is not Kobe, and it is not Kobe and someone standing with him. It is the "Best Team" that will win.  If Kobe can turn the Lakers into the "Best Team," they will win.  Right now, the Celtics are the "Best Team".  (It does seem to me that slamming your own team is not the way to do that.) To see the results of "team" over "individual" harken back to the days of Russell's Celtics Teams vs Wilt Chamberlain.   To Late? Hope so... ha ha ha....GO CELTS!

I love how Kobe will run up the court, take a horrible, contested, ill-advised shot, brick it, and then run back up the court and yell at his teammates for something they did.  Or that fact that he would berate them after the game for their performances...

Seriously, how can he go after anyone, even with his big performance, when he's jacking up 27 shots (including 10 three pointers) and had a +/- of -6.  Yes he was on fire in the third, but he also took a bunch of ugly, ill-advised shots, and had 4 turnovers.  His selfishness and play is just as detrimental to their teams success as his teammates not showing up to contribute in game 5.

I don't know how his teammates can stomach the hypocrisy to play with him.

I do find it interesting that the Lakers are being forced to switch on the screen and rolls with Pierce for the C's where they didn't for Durant.

This is why Kobe is not on my Post Jordan starting 5:

Shaq (1999-2001 version), KG (2000-2008), Lebron (2008-2010 version), Ray Allen (pre-ankle injury), Billups (2004 version)

everyone on that team could get along and fit in perfectly. Gasol needs to get touches - his defense collapses when he doesn't.

Kobe played a superb game and non of his team mates showed up last night..

I think its more a case of holding his team mates accountable to what they did more so than Kobe being selfish, lets face it if the Lakers did not have Kobe last night and the Celtics didnt turn the ball over as much as they did.

This would have been the blow out game, but i guess i can live with the blow out game being Game6 in the forum.. would be great to see the Celtics celebrate in an allmost empty stadium :D

I love it.

Just how fragile are they as a team? Privately, the Celtics believed a Game 5 victory would have Bryant tearing into his teammates, thrusting them back into shells when they needed to be strong.

Celtics need to come out and punch the rest of these guys in the mouth defensively at the beginning of the game.

Boy do I hope that's exactly what we see in game 6.

I want to see kobe cry on national tv

Here's the thing.

-Yes, kobe was making shots during that 3rd quarter stretch.

-Yes, that would have closed the gap if his teammates had played defense.

-Yes, if the players really wanted to win, they could have dug in on defense.

HOWEVER:
-Kobe is NOT Jordan, but he expects to be treated as such. EVERYTHING is about HIM. He expects his teammates to bust their butts on defense to win games FOR HIM while he jacks shots on offense. Jordan could get away with this, partly because of his sense of timing, but also BECAUSE HE WAS BOTH FAR BETTER AT IT THAN BRYANT AND WAS CLEARLY HIS TEAM'S BEST OFFENSIVE WEAPON IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME! This is NOT the case with Kobe. Kobe shoots in the low .400s against Boston...I LIKE it when he takes every shot, because he's taking shots away from Gasol, WHO IS THEIR MOST EFFICIENT OFFENSIVE WEAPON!!!! Kobe (and everyone else) has bought into the hype that he's the best ever, or since jordan, but actual stat heads say that other than volume (minutes and games played and number of shots taken) and opportunity/exposure (getting lots of playoff exposure thanks to, you know, Shaq) he has NOT been any different than Pierce, Carter, Ray Allen, etc. So here's the thing. Jordan's teammates KNEW he was the best, and WANTED him to take over the offense and WANTED to fulfill their complementary roles. HOWEVER, I think the Lakers know that there are OTHER options on offense that are AS GOOD or BETTER than Kobe, and they lose interest when they have this less-efficient guy dominating the ball. Which works for me, because it makes the Lakers worse.

After all, why should the Lakers bust their butts to win a title FOR a guy who is not just a selfish **** to them, but is not even really any better on offense outside of number of articles written about him?

I think its undeniable that Kobe played a great game last night, guys. Yes, he made some mistake, threw the ball away a few times, but he was handling it a disproportionate amount. He was doing everything on the offensive end, dribbling around, handing the ball off to other players and then cutting back to the ball, getting it back, and trying to create a shot or an assist from there. Nobody on the Lakers was moving on EITHER end of the floor, so he had no opportunity to find cutters or open shooters. On defense, its impossible to guard five men by yourself. Had the Lakers team pllyed well during that third quarter while Kobe was hot, or even just gotten some rebounds (they had two for the quarter :o ) then they probably would have taken the lead or made it a very tight game. Who knows what happens from there. I think Kobe has a right to be mad.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Not once have I seen anyone on this blog wish death on another player. They weren't even saying it in a joking manner which is even more mind boggling. The incessent swearing us pretty classless too. I'm actually glad we don't allow it on this blog. As you can see from reading their blog things go downhill pretty quickly when you allow all that nonesense. Standards can actually be a good thing lol.

Kobe's tongue-lashings and glares aren't productive.  But man, I still can't believe some of his makes last night.  Wow.

It looked like the Lakers didn't do much but I think they worked pretty hard.  I lay the blame squarely on the Lakers coaching and game plan

The Lakers were aggressively trying to provoke the Celtics into physical confrontations.  That was their focus.  Was it that they thought with Bynum back they had an advantage?  That they needed to open up the middle by getting Perk or Wallace t'ed up?  Derek Fisher is no moron and even he was into the act.

That's not much of a game plan.  It's not an adjustment.  It didn't work because last night several of the Lakers mistook bullying for toughness, flops for execution.  And the refs for the most part didn't buy it, although look at the "t" differential.  Even the ESPN crew grew openly contempuous of Fisher and Artest as the game progressed.

The Lakers are a scary good basketball team.  But except for Kobe the Lakers didn't show up to play basketball.
