  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I just laughed when I heard him say that.

I found it hilarious.

Personally, I think it's the wrong way to motivate a team, but hey, he's the best, so who am I to question his tactics? I'd rather have my coach saying "Go get it" than "Let them give it to you" though.

KG looks like hes ready to eat someone alive, lets close it in 6

lol I loved KG's reaction...and at the same time...gotta give it up to the media guys....they kept mentioning that Phil quote to every C's player that came.

Whether or not Doc uses Phil's comments as motivation for the guys...it doesn't really matter now. The word is out and am sure the guys will be looking forward to getting back at Phil for it.

Gaykers

Is this really necessary?

Not at all ... in very poor taste.

Well the rest of us thought it was great. I gave him a Tommy Point for it... I guess that shows how much (or rather how little) you guys know.

Or how childish some people are to mark out for a gay joke, and not even a funny one at that.

I for one don't find gay jokes particularly funny or witty.

Huh?!? How does that show how little we know? And what is it we know so little about? And who is this "rest of us" that you're speaking for?!? Any kind of references to sexual preference or slight to any group is not allowed here, so I think you've got your perspective a bit backward, (check out the posting rules sometime).

Why on earth would he say that with microphones all around him? I'm sorry, I don't care how many titles he's mooched, he's a terrible coach. Saying that stuff is just hurting your team.
He said it to motivate hi guys. Who cares about bulletin boards when you are in the middle of a game with a chance to win?

It's not like what he said wasn't true during the regular season. I'm not sure how the Celtics knowing he said that would make a difference in their ability to close out games.

I totally agree. The whole Gaykers thing, when I first saw it, seemed unnecessary. I was going to reply to it and say maybe that was a little childish, but decided not to. But then scrolled down to see others saw it the way I did.

That is not FAIR!

Phil is doing my Lucky Charm work for me by making derogatory remarks about the Celtics.

Oh well last post in here until we win one of the two next games (hopefully Tuesday).
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Excellent point. Especially because we've won almost every 4th quarter this series and because we haven't actually been losing the playoff games where we give up big leads. Game 1 in the semis is the only loss I can think of.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

A lot of overreactions here.

Phil is an excellent coach. Sure, he's had superstars, but so did Red.

This team does not need bulletin board material with only one win to go for a title.

TP for being the voice of reason around here, Fall Guy.  Phil is a fantastic coach, and I think his comments make sense.  The C's blew a lot of regular season games in the 4th, and they have allowed teams to get back into the game in the post-season.  All he was doing was reaffirming his team's belief that they could still win.

It's refreshing to read posts that actually make sense instead of the "Lakers r gay" "Phil Sucks" posts that seem to populate threads like these.

First of all, you should really speak only for yourself. Secondly, you should head over to the Tommy Points thread and pledge your 50 TP's, then maybe (maybe) we can forget this. Finally, Celtic Pride is not about bashing minorities. Enjoy Banner 18.
