I'm not sure about that.  It's simply not that easy to win a title in the NBA.  The process of building a championship team takes more than just good management.  It takes a great deal of luck (usually in the draft) along with savvy decisions in the front office. 

To win a championship in the post-"big three" era, management is either going to need to pair Rondo with a superstar, or with multiple all-stars who all fit together.  I don't think acquiring that type of talent is as easy as suggested.

Seriously, nobody posting so far was on board with trading Ray? All the Kevin Martin, Monta Ellis, Andre Iguodala, and Caron Butler talk was on here for a reason. I am very happy Ray turned it around after the deadline, but at the time, any of those guys I listed above would have made many of us happy.

Ray clearly needs something for which to play- just like KG, Pierce, Sheed, and Rondo. The playoffs lit a fire under this team and I am just happy we have a chance at all of this again- and also hope we can sign Ray again for another couple of years.

And I admit it. Ray Allen was off all season, he just really turned it on in the playoffs.

I was wrong, none of those aforementioned guys would have helped us get us to the spot where we are now.

However, if you can do a sign and trade in the offseason with Ray for a stud big man such as boozer or Lee, you do it in a second.

Players typically peak at 27 and we have far too many players, (especially bigs) on the wrong side of that stat.

So does that mean we'll bench Perkins and play with no center in the starting lineup, or bench KG? And who will we start at SG? Tony Allen or Nate Robinson.

Bad idea on many fronts, and probably means we won't be contenders again until Rondo is 30 or so.

Don't be hard on yourself. 

Who's to say that the Cs couldn't have resigned Ray Allen after he was bought out by Washington (taking the Butler example)?
Then the Cs would have the current team + a young stud to build around with Rondo after the Big Three.  Sounds like a great outcome to me....
