to put things into perspective though
miami a one player team
cleveland a one player team
orlando a giant inside that if we can control hurts the "brilliant" 3 pt shooting system

I think we have done a great job on defense but it will really matter against the lakers who have more than just kobe.
We made Clevland into a one player team. We are making these teams look worse than they are.

Clev is one of the top offensive teams in the league.

Howard-Carter-Nelson-Lewis? Thats an impressive bunch. I don't see why the Lakers are much more impressive than that.

Do we have to face Phoenix for you to be impressed?

Orlando had the 2nd best offense in the league this year, and Cleveland was 4th. The Lakers, who have more than just Kobe, finished 11th.

I'm not worried about the Lakers.

The Suns "improvement" on defense is just for regular season show. Sure they can defend in the regular season against mediocre teams and mediocre offenses, but once the you raise the stakes, raise the intensity...push comes to shove the Suns fold. (Amare kinda sucks for a supposed superstar).

If we can continue to limit the Magic from taking 3's, we can afford Dwight to go for 30.

Obviously reg season stats mean nothing in the playoffs

Their defense this season was worse than many of the D'Antoni era teams.

The execution on defense has been so impressive. I didn't think we had this in us TBH. Hoping we can keep turning up the defensive intensity and ride it all the way to #18.

And as much flack as Dwight and Lebron have gotten for their play against us, I don't recall Wade getting much credit for how he played against us. He had the worst supporting cast and didn't get much from them but still managed to consistently put up great numbers. Too many turnovers and poor FT shooting but overall he was very very good.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

your first part here is what i have trying to hit on which too many people aren't understanding
our defense made cleveland go away from their offense and be a 1 on 1 team (much like celtics/pierce would do before kg, doc, rondo etc)
the inside out game of orlando isn't showing up because of our defense yes but in terms of playoff basketball and when you have the best teams playing at a higher level I'm not scared by orlando as long as Lewis can be held in check.  I think he is the x factor in series
BUT the only team I see that can still play their game plan against our defense is the lakers this will be the real test.  Mind you last finals we played against them we crushed them physically and mentally.  I feel Gasol is much much better this year but still feel KG can handle him.
As for the suns,  :-\  they are going to swept by lakers, they have a nice offense but their defense is subpar.  I'll gladly take dudley bc kid on our team .
And no I'm not a lakers fan, I'm not knocking the c's, I feel our defense is the key to winning another championship just trying to put things into perspective.
agree with posts about amare, his defense is lackluster and wade who should be in mvp contention every year because miami is not good

I agree that the Lakers with Kobe looking healthy would be the toughest matchup. However, the Lakers have only faced one decent defense this whole playoffs and that was against the Thunder. That has been their toughest series yet. Physical play can still bother the Lakers and you can bet they wont be scoring anywhere near 120 against the Celtics defense.
