They should want us.  With the long and well established history of embarrassment getting their butts kicked by the Celtics, I'm sure they're eager for a shot at redemption.

We want them because it's so darn enjoyable beating them.

it's a match made in heaven.
Yup

Simple question is are the Lakers that GOOD? Or are the teams out west just undersized and not defensively tough?

Out of all the Lakers opponents thus far imo OKC is the only team who was good defensively, I havent seen a lick of good all around team defense from either the Suns or Jazz

No they're not as good as advertised. I feel like I've gone back in time. I see a repeat of 08. They are still soft as a pillow and weak minded.

They can want revenge all day, but revenge isn't enough to take down a tougher opponent. The only sad thing is, I don;t think we will get to see Ray break Sasha's ankles again :( That was my favorite Ray moment.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

TP Unfortunately Farmar is a better player; however he still can't guard Rondo. Hope we can also use our depth to give Kobe a lot of different looks. The Lakers are legit; but they are bound to p--- off one of the C's and once they do it will be all over.

Lets just hope the Capt. stays mad so they can polish off Howard and the Magic efficiently and not get mired in a long series. If they can stay fresh they can take the Lakers.

Farmar hasn't progressed at all over the last two years, I've been disappointed by that.

Sasha has regressed...

The Lakers look AWESOME right now.

But they haven't played a single team with a "plus" frontline vs. their players yet.

OKC - small, not tough
UTA - crippled
PHX - soft

Our frontline is elite.

As good as Orlando looked in their first two rounds, we've humbled them (so far). I think the Lakers could be in for some of the same.

Their fans didn't look nearly as cut throat as those of Boston.

Looked like a choire group compared to our Beat LA chants
"He trades like a drunk Texas oilman trying to impress a beautiful woman"

Makes sense that they'd want us.  They assume they'll beat us just like they assumed they would in 2008.  they'll get the same results too -- profound disappointment and despair  :D

I'm really hoping for another Celtic/Laker final.  Nothing as satisfying as beating Laker teams for the title.  It was a bummer having to beat Houston for 2 of Bird's 3 titles.

I love how confident Celtics fans are, but some of you are bordering on delusional.    Lebron tanked the series on purpose (obvious to any impartial NBA fan) against Boston for whatever reason and the Magic are just not that good, along with the Suns.

Beating the Lakers was tough in 2008, I'm not sure why you guys pretend now that is was an easy series. Without a miracle comeback from down 24 points in game 4, that series would have been 3-2 Lakers after game 5, and who knows what then?  Posey and House hitting threes were the keys to you winning game 6, two players that are now gone.

The Lakers have Bynum back (somewhat healthy) this year, and a significant upgrade in Ron Artest.  Those of you who think this will be a cakewalk are in for a rude awakening.  Of course the Celtics still have a chance to win, but that chance is not any greater than it was in 2008, and it may be even less.

Basketball is a skill game, not a wrestling match, please stop with the "toughness" argument.  The only person that Perkins intimidates with his angry scowl is his mirror.  Now if you want to say that you play aggressive, swarming, defense, fine.  But don't talk about toughness as though the players are in fear of each other.  That just sounds dumb.  No one in the NBA is physically scared of anyone.  Can we all agree on that?  Toughness is about mentality, not about physical strength.

All that said, as an NBA fan, I look forward to a great series.

You're labeling us "delusional" and then start things off with that comment.   ::)

That comeback was a long way from miraculous - it was a combination of Boston clamping down and LA tightening up.  It's also impossible to say that Game 5 would've turned out exactly the same if Game 4 had gone differently.

Oh yeah, and take Posey and House out of Game 6's boxscore and we still win by 19.   :D

Anyway, I'm glad you are looking forward to a series, because I'm pretty sure you won't be looking back on it much.

What was Bynum's average in minutes for the Orlando series last year?  19 minutes per game I believe.  He played less than a half per game in that series.  Seems pretty low for someone whose presense would have been "the difference" in the finals just one year prior to that (and before you throw Trevor Ariza out there keep in mind that the 2008 Ariza was not the same as the 2009 Ariza).

So you don't know why he tanked the series, don't offer any kind of theory on what his motivation could possibly be, but you're certain that he tanked the series with Boston.  Wow!  You've got me convinced. ::)

If Posey and House hit 0 3 pointers in Game 6 the Celtics win 119 to 92.  Sorry guess again for the key to game 6.

Even if Posey and House didn't score at all we still win 101 to 92.
