Question for you guys. Much has been made of Tony Allen's ability to guard Kobe, which I think he can do. But if he's playing...who's sitting?

Tony is the back up for the 1-3 positions. And the guy knows his role and is all energy on both ends for 20 minutes per game.

Thank you. Ray Allen will generally handle the PG duties when Rondo's out, correct?

Everybody (except Perkins) gets a piece of the action when initiating the offense. If rondo is out, any of Tony, Paul or Ray bring the ball up.

Boston have the best post defense in the league + three players who do a good-to-excellent job on Kobe Bryant.

That defensive impact will turn the Lakers offense into the equivalent of a bottom 10 offensive team (20th to 30th league wide).

Personally, I like him best in the backcourt with Rondo.  'Sheed stepping it up in the playoffs has the added domino bonus of allowing this to work.  Wallace being a threat from the perimeter makes it less of a disadvantage for us to have such a non-jumpshooting backcourt.

Ask the Cavs about how the combo of TA and Rondo basically changed that series.  When we can get those two out running together, it's really fun to watch . . . not to mention, quite effective.

All in all if I was a Lakers fan (feel disgusted just saying that lol) I would definitely want a rematch and to get revenge, but most importantly I would just my team to get to the finals and win it, no matter who it is against.

little do they know...
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

So confident and wrong at the same time. If I were them, I would be praying to all things holy that the Magic beat us.

Quick Q how do the Lakers matchup with us? i know we played them twice they beat us once and we beat them once without Kobe but we were kind of injured and terrible throughout the season however how do we matchup with them?

I know their bigs wont be a problem because were also big! now the back-court? Pierce vs Artest, Kobe vs Allen, Rondo vs Fish

Rondo wins
Kobe wins
Pierce or Artest?? looking at history when those guys play who had better games and i dont remember many but did pierce really take it to Artest?

You're going to see them cross matchup and put Kobe on Rondo and Fisher on Allen. Fisher would absolutely get torched by Rondo and they know it.

Artest is going to use the same old tactics he employs on Pierce. I think a big key would to use Pierce and Allen on high screen and rolls, in similar fashion as they used House. Fisher would be on Allen (as noted) and a switch would result in a mismatch for Pierce, while Allen could get some clean looks on pick and pops.

This is a collision course of the highest order. Two champions playing their best basketball when it matters most. This will be the best Finals matchup in 20+ years. I would wish you luck, but it would be insincere.  ;D

Welcome back LakerPete!

Yes it certainly seems like LA and Boston are on a collision course. Once again, LA is in the way of Boston winning a championship.

No offense ( ;D), but it certainly seems as if just like 07-08 we both had similar paths to meeting up - LA's path being apparently easier, and Boston's being the harder road. But it's all good.

LA's a better team this time around, but so is Boston. May the Best Team, which is Boston, Win.

I'm sorry I cannot lie.

Im not sure Kobe's gonna guard Rondo all game he was kind of exposed vs Westbrook. Remember Westbrook is kind of new in this league and he adjusted after the first game but if LBJ couldn't guard Rondo then i doubt Kobe could.

And what tactics does he employ on Pierce?

If both teams are playing their best basketball, you'll go home disappointed.
