We had a great first half and then injuries came. We can't ignore that at our own convenience. Did the team want to take it a bit easy during the season? Sure. But that alone doesn't explain the poor 2nd half. We had injuries, we responded bad to them, and simply lacked a lot of focus, particularly to close out games. I mean, many of the games we lost came after holding big leads.
So this isn't entirely an effort issue, as much as it is a focus issue.
And while there's no guarantee that switch could be made, there's also no guarantee that a switch might be needed.
And also, I think this switch that has been insinuated, as I mentioned in another thread, has been a bit exaggerated particularly in that it ignores how we little by little were playing better and better as we became healthier and healthier throughout the 2nd half. Though we had some pitfalls, but there was a general improvement going on that culminated with the arrival of the playoffs.
