San Antonio selects Mike Krzyzewski as their coach.

Interesting choice.  I think I would have taken somebody with NBA experience.  Coach K is a great coach, but his only experience dealing with superstar egos is with USA Basketball, meaning he's a bit of an unknown.  There are two coaches in particular who I think are still excellent choices, to the point where gambling is unnecessary.
I was actually thinking I was going to take Coach K, of course I'm much later in the coaches round so I figured the two guys (at least I think I know them) would be gone by the time I was picking.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Interesting to see how the panelists react. Coach K comes with a ton of hype, but in reality,  for every Larry Brown crossover, there's a hundred Pitinos just not built for the pros.

I figured for this exercise having someone that coached and won on the international level with a collection of HOFers was probably the best way to go, given the teams are full of HOFers.

True. But on the other hand it's a whole different thing to keep an egoistic group together on the same page for 82 games plus playoffs and not just for 2 weeks.

This Historical Draft is Awesome..it's making me look back at the Old School Centers.

Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon really had some great battles back in the day. Admiral, too.

It saddened me to hear the garden crowd boo Patrick back in the day.

Dwight is a Great Center, too. He'll be at their level one day.

Come on. Did anyone really expect me not to hire my boy, Doc?

Doc should be a good fit with a veteran team.  When I talked about there being two great coaches above, Doc wasn't one of them (Rudy T. was, though), but I don't consider this a reach.

And yes, the selection was completely expected.

Did you get my list?

Yes I got your list.

I was thinking about that because there is a player that is already drafted that was a pretty dang good coach as well. I think I would allow the separate entities of coach and player as two different people. I mean, if we can stretch the imagination to believe we can get these players playing back in their heyday as players then splitting a person in two so they can play on one team and coach on another is okay, I guess.
