Excellent pick with Carmelo.  At this stage, I think some GMs may be too focused on fit, and not enough on best player available.  With a draft like this, I say pick the elite players when you can.

I think it's also hard to imagine how/who would be able to do things like Defend really well if they were among equals vs. clearly needed to be the best player on a given team...and how to quantify that.

I tend to agree, it is why I took Bosh even though it left me vastly undersized, I couldn't really justify not taking him.
