Too bad doc couldn't have put sheldon in for a few, he could have at least gotten rebounds on both ends...! And scored a few.

What's that US military slang abbreviation that they use describing soldiers that have checked out early for retirement but are still on active duty?

That's Rasheed Wallace

wishful thinking but i do not see sheed as the guy who turns down 11 million because it is the right thing to do, like bird retiring and walking away from guaranteed $7 million did in 1992.

The few people who comntinue to defend sheed with their arcane stats are probably the same people who believe the Red Sox are right with all of their defense measurement statistics, run prevention, blah blah blah. 99.9 percent of Celtics fans can see with their own eyes what a waste of space this guy is. He is the human energy drain.

All this for a guy who played only 13 minutes, and didn't do much to hurt the team (or help the team)

Where is the thread about Pierce's 4 turnovers, 5-17 shooting, and allowing Lebron to gain confidence in this shoulder?

Did Pierce ever give Lebron a hard foul?  (I know Wallace did)

If Pierce played better, the Celtics win.

If Wallace played better, the Celtics probably still lose.

Sheed's main problem is the gap between expectations and results. I'll attribute it more to being washed up than any other change. Only Doc or players would know if he's an UBUNTU destroying virus or not.

In terms of this game - it just didn't rouse Rasheed hatred in me. He was playing in the first half when they built their lead too. I'm frustrated with that 3rd quarter, yes the players made mistakes, but I think Doc could have: substituted better - he ran his starters a long time when they were in foul trouble, looking tired, and giving up a lead; used a time out and re-emphasized that Rondo should be running the offense by penetrating - once they started running pick and rolls for Ray and KG and isolating for Pierce things looked terrible - if Rondo isn't going to run the O - they should have rested him.

I guess you can say Rasheed didn't make a positive impact, but my hopes for him are no negative impact, which I think was accomplished.

That is completely true and I one hundred percent agree with you Rahseed didn't do anything to lose us the ame last night, but he didn't do much to help us win other then the hard foul on LeBron.

Rasheed has been lackluster all year, and with what Paul Pierce has done for this team over his career, there is no way in hell there should be a thread like this about Pierce.

I am only talking about the reactionary aspect of this thread.  Celtics lose.  Wallace did little.  5 pages on why Wallace isn't doing.

That seems like a lot of talk on a player that had little to do with the loss.

maybe because some people still have a tiny bit of hope that he's going to help us in some way at some point.  And every game we watch makes it seem more unlikely that it will ever happen.  He didn't lose the game but he did nothing beneficial at all.  He made a few good moves and missed layups, he watched people take rebounds right out of his hands.  It really sucks that to get anyone to take Wallace off our hands, we are going to have to include useful players or draft picks.

No you're right about that, I think Rasheed had little with us losing, but could have been the difference in the game and got us the win if he played well.

But like you said so could have Paul Pierce and I'll say even Ray Allen.

Had one of those two played well, which should be expected unlike Sheed, we would have won.

But this is all coulda shoulda woulda and it's time to make adjustments, and move on to game two.

I think a lot of us had high hopes when Sheed signed and he has been way beyond a huge disappointment. As for criticizing Pierce, he had a terrible game, but he has been the heart and soul of this franchise for 10 years. Is Sheed the reason the Celts lost? Of coure not. But his repetitive lackluster play sticks out like a sore thumb, game after game after game.
