I'm sure Simmons will write something just as soon as he has finished prostrating and genuflecting before the altar of King James, the Chosen One.

Please be patient.

Cavs in three. It's in the best interest of the C's to forfeit the fourth game.

He's got Marc Stein on his podcast today. Presumably he'll have some comments there.

Just listened to the podcast... like everyone else who isn't crazy, he's got the Cavs winning the series.  Forget how many games.  Stein says he has the Cavs in 6.  They both agreed Miami is a crap team and we shouldn't read into us beating them.

Yeah, they both talked about a Magic / Cavs ECF as a foregone conclusion.

Oh, and Simmons threw around Ray Allen's name as a possible player on a bunch of different teams next year, not even considering that he'd come back to play for the Celtics.

He's also pretty much convinced Doc is leaving the Celtics this summer.

So basically...I have no idea how this guy can claim he's a Celtics fan.  He seems to love the Thunder a whole lot more.

Yeah, the Cavs should be favored. I'd put the Celts chances of actually winning this series at no more than 25%.

Um, I'm definitely favoring the C's in this series.

I think it's pretty crazy some of these predictions.

Look at the past and present, our team has more fire/chemistry and better players and they have beaten this CLE team in 7 games before.

Thats funny, Bill seemed to think they were pretty good when he picked them to win the series in six before it started.

What a toolbag. I don't mind his prediction, but the absolute disregard of the team he's supposed to be a such a huge fan of is laughable. doubly so that he hasn't tweeted anything about:

-the pierce game winner
- the celtics winning the series
- anything about the series at all other than that gushing man love of wade's game four.

If i had a twitter account, I'd be all over him for his attempt to ignore/ pretend the miami pick.

Normally, i wouldn't care on iota that he was pretending the celtics didn't exist, but considering that every time he needs to mail in a column, he trades on his expert Celtics knowledge and "fandom" and 80's pop references, one would think he would take a break from servicing wade. LBJ and durant to say something about his team winning a series he guaranteed they would lose.

Guys a hack. he used to be good but now he's the same thing he made his fame hating, a sports writer who thinks he's god's gift to media and part of the hyperbole.

The funniest thing about his "fued" with riley is that the are the same type of writer at this point.

Front runners who only right safe columns and ignore anytime they are wrong and destroy anyone who makes a prediction that proves false.

The only difference is rick uses awful folk humor while Bill uses 80's pop culture references.

What?

How does thinking that Ray and Doc won't be back indicate ANYTHING about whether you're a Celtics fan?

There have been reports that Ray expects the Celtics WON'T resign him for next year. And reports Doc may be considering leaving.

But don't let that stop you from your spin-doctoring.

It indicates that, to me, because he talked about it as if they were foregone conclusions and not even really a bad thing.  When he talked about Doc and Ray going elsewhere, he barely mentioned the Celtics or the effect it would have on them.  That's not the way a real Celtics fan would talk about a beloved player and long-time coach possibly leaving their favorite franchise.

It's not the fact that he mentioned those things as possibilities, it's the way he did it.  If it weren't for the fact that Simmons claims he's a Celtics fan, I would never ever think that.  He doesn't really do or say anything to indicate that he's a true fan.

Sorry man - I check out when people start dictating how "real Celtics fans" think or say or feel. You're not the authority on that. We all have a different experience of fandom.

Personally, I don't want Ray back next year. And while I love Doc as a person, I'm not sure he's the right coach for the future.

Does that make me a "fake" Celtics fan?

Bill Simmons is that you?

And no Ray never said he didn't expect the c's to resign him , he said he knows he is not going to get paid anywhere close to what he makes this year and would have to take a paycut to resign with the c's
