If Miami trades Beasley, it will be for additional cap space (plus draft picks), since they're on the cusp of being able to offer three max contracts.  Therefore, they'd move him to either a team under the cap, or to a team that can send back non-guaranteed deals.  Neither scenario fits with the Celts.

I would trade for him, but not with one of the Celtics starters.

I think he'll go in a sign and trade for one of the big FAs.

That will free up the cap space and allow them to pay the FA more.

a few years under the tutelage of kg might help

KG can't change personality.

KG can't cure lazy.

He's just a man.

It's kinda funny considering a lot of fans (I'm not saying you specifically) thought playing with KG, Paul and Ray would get Sheed reenergized. I think fans were more accomadating to him for some reason when its clear he really doesn't care anymore.

Beasley is FAR younger and a former #2 pick. The talent is def there, he just needs some guidance which I think the C's staff can provide. If there's an opportunity to get him - I'm not sure if there will be - I hope DA explores it.

And like I said, his contract is definitely tolerable.

Wait, you just got done watching the Miami Heat for five straight games, and the conclusion you drew was that you want Michael Beasley?   ???

Dude's got tons of latent talent, but strikes me as a hellacious cross between Mark Blount (no heart) and Gerald Green (basketball IQ of a fencepost).  Toss in a little Ricky Buckets, if you know what I mean.

Antithesis of what the Celtics ought to be all about.

EDIT: I'm not a believer in "put a guy next to KG and he'll pick up his fire."  Didn't work with most of the chumps playing next to KG in his later Minnesota years.  Guys either have the heart to play up to their potential, or don't.
TP.  I agree with the edit part 100% too.

I think most thought that being on the Celtics (instead of playing with AI and that mess in Detroit) would get Wallace to play at the level he was playing just two seasons ago.

It all depends on the price of course, but I wouldn't be too excited about getting Beasley. He is a head case and not in a good, KG, sort of way, but more of a bad Ricky Davis kind of way.

I imagine a spectrum of players from fire breathing on one end to pot smoke exhaling on the other. Beasley is definitely closer to the latter end.

At least Ricky Davis had a motor.  Beasley plays lazy.

Yeah, that's definitely a possibility, as well.

Agree 100%.  I don't believe "heart" rubs off.

The price would be Kenrick Perkins at the very least ... and possibly Perk + future picks.

That would be a tough decision (Perk by his lonesome) but I do not think I make that trade.

Beasley was supposed to be the best player coming out of college that year, and Jermaine O'Neill was supposed to round out Miami's "big three".  It looked good on paper, but in reality, they're still two players short.  Not an exact science putting a team together.

A change of scene might be good for Beasley.  But, then again, a change of scene for O'Neill only resulted in another team being let down.

I don't think thats a given.  I think there is a good chance that they will go after two max guys, and then use the rest of the cap space to fill in the roster with good players, rather than vet minimum guys.  I also think in this scenario, they could be interested in moving Beasley for a player who fills a need.

For example, if they resign Wade, and sign Amare to play PF, that is approximately $34 million.  Plus $1 million for Chalmers.  Then go after say, Mike Miller $6 million, and Raymond Felton $7 million.  Then they could look to move Beasley for a defensive minded Center (like, say, Perk, who makes just about the same as Beasley).

So, I can certainly see a scenario where the C's would matchup well with the heat for a trade of Beasley for Perk.  Although after this series, I don't know if either team would want a part of it.  Perk was a blackhole on offense, and Beasley looked completely useless.  But I do think the fit makes some sense.

Beasley would work well next to KG at center, if he could actually ball out there consistently.

With his attitude issues, I'd rather hold onto Perkins....
