This was brought up in the game thread and I definitely think it's possible.

In an elimination game for a team that's severely lacking in talent, Beasley didn't play at all in the second half. That shows you just how disappointed the Heat are in him. And more importantly, if the Heat want to keep Wade, I think they have to trade him cause I doubt he wants to play with someone like that.

Beasley is a tremendous talent but extremely immature, and that's a call Danny needs to make. The Heat are desperate for a center.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

He's got talent, but he doesn't seem like a competitor or winner.

Yes I believe he will be available. I don't know if any trade makes sense for both the C's and Miami. Maybe in a sign and trade for Ray.

I think Beasley will still have more value than that though.

Put Baby's energy and heart into Beasley and he would be a beast.

I rather the less talented player that plays hard and is effective then the immature player who never plays close to his talent when it matters.

True but we already have a guy like that- Wallace.  Another thing that I don't like about Beasley is that he only gets excited when he dunks, or does something spectacular on offense.  He doesn't get excited about defense or plays that his teammates make.

Except Wallace played up to his talent in the playoffs.  (before the last two seasons)

Went over this in the game thread but keep Beasley away from my team!  The guy is the closest thing to a young Sheed in the league, except Sheed has undeniably accomplished things in his career and has never been in rehab that I'm aware of.

Besides, I think Beasley will wind up part of a sign-and-trade for Bosh or Amare this summer.

As I said in the game thread, if you take out the South Beach equation and add in a solid coaching staff & some vets, Beasley can be a good addition. If some time under KG's wing doesn't get him in shape, then we'll know if he's a bust or not. Plus, his contract is relatively painless- I believe he has 2 TO years and then a QO year left.

I think Danny will def inquire, so anything's possible.

Wait, you just got done watching the Miami Heat for five straight games, and the conclusion you drew was that you want Michael Beasley?   ???

Dude's got tons of latent talent, but strikes me as a hellacious cross between Mark Blount (no heart) and Gerald Green (basketball IQ of a fencepost).  Toss in a little Ricky Buckets, if you know what I mean.

Antithesis of what the Celtics ought to be all about.

EDIT: I'm not a believer in "put a guy next to KG and he'll pick up his fire."  Didn't work with most of the chumps playing next to KG in his later Minnesota years.  Guys either have the heart to play up to their potential, or don't.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
I would never want that lazy turd on my team...never.

what, you guys want a player on this team, who WHEN he actually does show up to play, runs down the floor beating his chest like Tarzan, and then you won't hear from him for another week?  please...

guys like him sicken me...  a lot of talent in that body, but nothing there from the neck up...
