The main players for next year will remain mostly the same.

In addition to the 6 players already under contract, Ray and TA will be resigned.

<snip>

Daniels, Scal and Shelden will most certainly be gone.  I wouldn't mind Shelden returning but he's shown he's worth more than a vet min deal and I don't think Danny will offer more than that to resign.

<snip>

I actually think that signing Shelden Williams is pretty important.

Big Baby's contract is up after next season and I could very much see us dealing him this season to a team desperate to get under the luxury tax.

Failing that, I'd much rather sign Shelden for a little more than overpay to keep Big Baby.

Shelden also makes it slightly easier to move Rasheed (which i don't think will happen, but cap management is about keeping options open)

I agree this is most likely, but I think they will explore moving Ray and Perk, depending on their contract demands, and the value they can get back.  But ultimately, the most likely case is they both return.

I also expect them to explore moving Davis (if they can get value), and Sheed (if they can shed the contract), but again, I have my doubts that a deal that actually helps the team is out there.

Agreed.  TA is an almost certainty IMO, unless someone offers him a ridiculous amount of money.

Finley will probably retire but I wouldn't mind him returning.  Nice shooter to have coming off the bench but probably not enough minutes and not really the young, athletic SF we need on the bench.

Agree again.  Finley is always welcome back, but I would be shocked if he does come back, unless it is on a half season thing.

I think Scal will return for the vet minimum.  He is a good chemistry guy, and a valuable depth player.  If he is willing to take the pay cut, I think this would be a no brainer for the C's.  Agree on Shelden and Daniels though, neither of whom I think impressed the C's enough to stick around for more than the minimum, which I don't see either taking.

Nate would be the question mark.  He's probably looking for more minutes than he'd realistically get behind Rondo and for more $ than Danny probably wants to pay.  I think he's gone.

I think he is absolutely gone.  The fact that he can't stay in the rotation is telling, and I have heard rumors they don't like his maturity level.

The two kids Danny signed for summer camp invites would be a surprise to make the team next year.  Maybe the PG will make it as the 3rd stringer--showed he's got some potential.

Yup, they are both longshots, but they have an inside shot at making the end of the roster.

So hold on for this playoff ride.  This'll be our best shot for the next few years unless Danny strikes gold late in the next couple of drafts.

Yeah, we are probably going to be looking at a majorly declining team falling more firmly into the middle of the pack next year.  Although I do think there is a very good chance if Danny does not find the right deal during the summer, he could make some dramatic moves next trade deadline.

I would like to see Ray signed for less money if Danny is able to a find bigger,younger,more athletic 2g,and if Ray is willing to except a bench role. He may not want to come off the bench out of pride,and i can't see him as a starter for another few seasons.

I still consider Ray Allen to be in the top 10, top 15 of all shooting guards. Finding someone that can surpass him right away for the MLE or whatever is perhaps too high of a task.

I see Ray continuing to punish people with his great stamina, 3 point stroke, and versatile scoring ability for a few more years. He is easily aging the best out of the big 3, despite being the oldest of them.

Definitely the C's need to find a young wing with starter potential, but I don't think this unnamed player needs to be forced into the starting line up. Make him earn it.

I agree. If we let Ray go, he would be a great fit on cleveland if lebron stays

If there's a coaching change, and if Nate would agree to a non-bird exception contract, I could see him staying. I think there are some occasional disconnects between Ainge's talent evaluation and player usage. Clearly we know Robinson is capable of much better than he is showing now, but has been buried since he arrived. I could see if there was a new coach that would utilize his skills in the right way, Ainge would try to keep him if it was a reasonable deal.

I don't think we know that.  He has been the exact same player with the C's as he was with the Knicks.  An incredibly talented, but streaky scorer, who is not great at anything else.  Doc does not like inconsistent players, and neither should any coach looking to win a championship.

  I don't see this happening. PP will be healthier, KG (and his knee) should be healthier, Baby will hopefully do better without the 2-3 month layoff and thumb injury. If they sign a decent wing we could easily be better.
